That's what we are hoping for. The princess is very well travelled so she has that going for her. Her French is very strong as well. The main excitement over this opportunity is not just to strengthen her language skills but because she is an artist. She has been studying art for years (see below, her latest effort) and I really want her to get to the museums! We are so fortunate to live close to NYC so she enjoys the exhibits locally, but to get to paris!! I'm so grateful we can make this happen for her.

I'll be thinking of you when I drop her off LOL!

We received pics from SilverDaughter last night.....here's one! She calls everyday and just chats away. The family that she's staying with has vonage so calls are local.

    Wow

Speaking of beautiful - holy cow! your daughter is gorgeous. Mr. Silver is going to need a shot gun or a baseball bat before you know it! LOL

PS: thanks - yea, we are proud of her. This painting is particular special to us because all the people in it are family. DH, his brother, nieces.

OMG, Silver Daughter is Gorgeous. For those who are just getting empty nest syndrome, it DOES get easier. The reward, eventually you may get wonderful beautiful grandchildren to love too.

Hope I didn't just make it worse..

You're right....that's when I get to wind them up on sugar, buy them loud and obnoxious toys, and then send them home to go to bed

    That's what my parents did!

Mary! your grandkids are just darling! And I have seen in your postings just how much joy they give you!

However with a 16, almost 17 year old, let me say that grandkids are the very LAST thing I want right now

I understand....grandkids are a "look forward to in the distant future" thing!

Mary, the kids are beautiful!!! When I turned 40 DH and I were sorta kinda thinking about maybe adopting a baby. My mother said "What in the hell for, you'll be a granny before ya know it". OUCH!

Mr. Silver; Taking my daughter to college was a real killer for me. That Sept. I had a freshman in college and a freshman in high school...it was tough. Now I hear she is going to spend her junior year of college in Tiwan. Now I am really messed up!!!

That is so cool that she is such a great kid you trust her enough to let her go. She will always remember this and the fact that you let her go. My parents were so paranoid they barely let me out the door. That could be why I have such a hard time leaving my house. You seem like such a great family. It will be honor to meet you all some day.

silverdaughter has returned!!! We picked her up at the airport last night! And we were late getting there. We felt so bad that we were not there the moment she walked off the plane. The internet indicated that the flight was late and so we left the house based on that info. In actuality, the plane landed earlier than originally planned.

Anyway, she had a great time, great experiences and seems so grown up and she can't wait to travel again!!!!!!!!

We're just soooooo proud of her.
