    Janesville Pie Ride

    To disable ads, please log-in.

While looking for rides to do in my area, I found this one. They have from 20k to 100k distances. No killer hills, (yes I know that makes me sound wimpy) and it sounds like it's more for fun and not quite as competitive.

What really hooked me was the pie that you receive after finishing.

Has anyone here done this ride before? Anyone interested in doing it this year?

    hear hear - a long-sleeved T-shirt And a pie??...sounds like My kinda ride!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"

    Sounds like fun :)

That sounds like fun! But first let's see if I can actually do this. I'm trying to work up to the Cinderella Classic in March. If I do, then I should definitely be able to do the pie ride in June (if that's when it'll be again). I've driven through Janesville. Nice, pretty, rolling area. And after 100k, maybe I can allow myself a piece of a pie. I could coordinate with a picnic with friends from my year in Madison and share the pie around, right?
Half-marathon over. Sabbatical year over. It's back to "sacking shirt and oat cakes" as they say here.

It appears that it was June 18.

Seems like the entire Janesville Rotary web site is defunct.

hmm, but they have a lot of other rides, includeing a Waterford Factory tour ride in June. I Wonder if they give out free sample bikes at the end of the tour like on the Hersheys factory tour?

I know a bunch of us are doing the ride for pie--I mean, come on, how cool is that?! I was thinking of pie so much yesterday, I went and bought a strawberry rhubarb pie! LOL

I might only do the 32, so I can go and watch the bf race at 2:00 in Grafton.

oh yeah, any Wisconsin women interested in joining....
