and I realize now I can't possibly fit in.....

that is a gorgeous instrument in a fabulous home!! I vow never to post a photo of my living room.

Veronica, I admire you yet even more. how long have you played the piano? I reached grade 6 in instructions...then gave it up to be a teenager. sometimes I wish I could start again, but I barely have time for my other passions and we have a tenant in our basement suite so I'd have to make do with electronic and headphones. bah.

    Truly impressed.....

    Namaste,

Ahhh... sorry it's not me, it's my honey. I used to play the flute - that's my music stand in the picture, but stopped playing to ride more. I'd love to fit it back in, it's fun to do duets with Thom on the piano, but my job keeps getting in the way.

Thanks for the compliment on the house. It's taken us a long time to get here.

    Concerts please

Say when are you asking all of us over? Maybe after a ride we could just meander on by and hear you play a few tunes?

Looks pretty awesome, but so does the room!

I'm standing by for that invite! (I'll even bring treats!)

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"

OMG - I'm laughing so hard I'm crying! Mental image of V (in her gorgeouse cashmere jersey) sitting in the box with reins riding that baby down Diablo!!

and I gotta tell ya - trying to laugh "quietly" so the boss doesn't catch ya makes it even harder to stop laughing!!

You are too funny. I'm not touching that thing. I refuse to even dust it! Our 15 year old cat drools, I hope she never gets an urge to sit on it. She's been on the bench with her drool and Thom hasn't wigged out about that, but... the piano itself...

PS That red cashmere jersey is my favorite. I got a Bento Box because it doesn't have pockets. The fit is perfect (thanks Penny!) and it breathes so well.

I left the keyboard cover up 1 time V - and when the cats went to sit on top of the piano and stepped on the keys - I thought a tornado had erupted Inside my house. They still sit on top of the piano, but they don't use the keyboard cover to get up there anymore! Guess they didn't feel they were good enough to use the keys!! Anyway, she is a beaut and I'll bet the tone is amazing. Thanks for sharing the pix!

She used to sit beside Thom on the bench for his upright and put her paws on the keys while he practiced - too cute - but alas no pictures. She looks kind of reproachfully at him now because the new bench has no space for her.

Yippee Yahooo!! It was 65 degrees today, very little wind, sunshine. I took my new bike out after work and slowly toodled around my neighborhood, headcold and all. You guys were right; for some reason the head clears while you're riding. I was only going to ride for twenty minutes, because I feel like road kill, but I didn't want to get off, so I stayed on for thirty minutes. My mother would say I'm going to make my cold worse; I hope she's wrong! I cannot believe how much weight I have gained over the winter and how out of shape I am. It's going to take all summer to get back to where I left off last fall. But, Daylight Savings Time starts this weekend so next week I should be able to start going for longer rides on the bike paths after work. Be gone, nasty cold!!

I had the same weather on Tuesday and got to ride to work for the first time since October (blubbery tears of gratitude) - that winter trainer work does not really substitute for the feel of the road and the actual hill climbing! I'm hoping some sort of muscle memory will kick in and we will get back to "fightin' shape" fast! It's that whole outdoor-spiritual aspect of riding that somehow makes winter training a weak, pale mockery of the real thing!!!

Of course, yesterday we had tornadoes and today we have 45 mph winds. Dang March weather!
