    DROOL........

Beautiful bike. What is your gearing? How come XTR derailleur? Do you have a weight for the complete build?

    Just curious...

EDIT: Just read all about it on the other thread. Still interested in the weight of the bike, but I know about the gearing now. Guess you want to go climb some serious hills!!!

Thanks, everyone for all your kind comments! It's a whole new thing having a bike I love!

The complete build is 19 pounds, more or less * (that's without water bottles and seat bag). My old bike was 22 pounds, same wheels and basically same components , so I think a good part of the difference must be in the frame itself. The Seven site says this frame weighs 3.2 lbs.

Yes, the hills around here can be serious, and the gearing is what lets me ride (veeerrryyy slowly) up them, rather than walk!

No, they're both 700s - it just a strange angle.

The Alps! No, they just help this heavy rider get up the Bay Area hills! The range of the gearing is great - 11-34 in back and 24-38-52 in front, and I've got everything from 2.6 mph going up (that takes some serious balance skills, let me tell ya!) and 40+ mph going down! This is the range I had on my old bike, and I think it is just the ticket for me.

    * weighed by getting a friend to stand on the bathroom scale, with and without the bike! Probably not scientifically accurate!
    Keep calm and carry on...

Heck, that's the way I weigh our bikes! 19lbs is the same as my husband's Specialized Roubaix all carbon! Now I'm even more jealous! Build your bike with a flat bar and high-end grip shifters, and I'd be stealing it from you.
