Our company celebrated Bike to Work Day today (5/17).

They gave participants breakfast and a handy little bag. The manager and one of the racers from Team Healthnet came, and gave out cards, posters, and t-shirts.

I asked the racer about which gears they use for climbing, and he said that their lowest gear on the cassette is a 23T during a typical race. Of course, on some hilly training days they'll use a 27 on the cassette "because sometimes you want to take it easy." says the girl who just switched to a MTB cassette to get up some of those hills.

This is one of the many reasons why no one will ever pay me to race bicycles.
