I had a fairly nice solo ride, doing the harder version of my loop. It's about 16 miles going that way. When I rode on Tuesday, I felt like H***. My lower back hurt, my quads hurt, and I swore the brakes were on. And it was windy. Yesterday's ride was not perfect, but I managed to average over 15, including the hill climb at the end. I had conferences yesterday. I got to leave at 1:30, so I did my ride at an earlier time and had plenty of time to spare to get back to school at 6.

SheFly, it is nice to read about someone else's ride on the roads I always ride on. My husband used to do those rides and he always came home amazed at how quickly people got dropped... he would start with the Bs and sometimes they would get so crazy, they would be averaging 19-21. One time some woman who was about 65 was leading and said," OK, now we'll pick it up," and he could not even come close to staying with her. Turns out she was a ten time national champion. I can't remember her name, but I used to see her riding around Boxborough when I lived there.

I got pulling the group turning up Strawberry Hill Rd from Barnes Hill, and then couldn't pull off due to traffic until AFTER we were past the school! That wore me out some, and then had to stay with them up over the hill. OOPH!

Good for you on keeping your average up - you have been improving so far this season! I was thinking about you last night as I was riding up Lowell Rd back towards Concord - those are some tough rollers on which to maintain some speed.

Looks like we may not have decent weather for riding this weekend . I will NOT, however, resort to the trainer - I'd rather ride in the rain!

    p.s.
Didn't do the TT this week. DH had arthroscopic knee surgery, and the rain was my second excuse.
