That D@mn Prudence! I was going to pick up a pizza on the way back from my ride last night...I have been craving it for awhile. But after getting spit out the back of the pack Prudence told me to go home and have a turkey sandwhich....which I did.

That Prudence is a tough woman. I managed to ride 32 miles at an avg. speed of 16.2, but she still didn't cut me any slack. No slack till you can stay with the pack!

PS. Thanks Meg McKilty - I'm gonna have nightmares after seeing that........"thing."

A long time ago, when i rode a 3 speed with only 2 speeds, and my sons were both small (like 7 and 9 years old) the four of us went for a "BIG RIDE" 5 miles out and 5 miles back on the burk gilman trail. the heavens opened up on us and it poured. The kids had a great time, but we were all soaked to the skin. At the time we had a camper van, so my husband rode back ahead of us and got the van ready for our return. When we got back, we stripped the boys and put them in their extra clothes and we all had hot chocolate. What a fun memory!! Talk about baptism by fire. neither of them is phased by rain today.
