I really want to do this ride. I have never done a century and I really need some goals to strive for otherwise I turn into a total slug. The drive to Utah looks a little daunting. I have to come up thru St. George, Utah has anyone ever been to that area? is the drive pretty? I think I would enjoy a long pretty drive but from my house all the way thru S. Neveda is flat desert with little else.

Las Vegas to St. George is indeed very boring. And it feels longer than it really is because of the lack of scenery. But southern Utah is gorgeous. Of course there are dry spells on any roadtrip where the scenery isn't so lovely.

It is an easy drive though, straight North on I-15. The exits are super easy to. The entrance is just opposite the exit. You can't get lost. Plenty of gas stations and hotels along the way. If you do drive, maybe you can turn it into a mutli day event and stop in Southern Utah to explore Zion's or something for a day.

LRRH is really a great group ride. I think if you made the drive, you wouldn't be dissappointed. I have seen several others from Calif. coming in for the ride. Maybe you can find out about carpooling with them?

Uh, are the "several others from California" jobob, TrekHawk and me? Wrong end of the state for carpooling I'm afraid.

Anyone else that I can't remember?

Someone to carpool with would be great, but with or without I just registered, so I'm in. I hope to get to meet all of you there.

    As jobob would say, "Kewl."

Forgive me, I'm low of calories and a bit lightheaded.
