I noticed a marked increase in my hunger when I first started cycling last year. I felt like I ate ALL the time. I called it "feeding the beast." As my miles have started to increase this year, I find myself being hungry much of the time again. I'm incorporating some snacks into my routine but I'm trying to keep it healthy. I would note that thirst can sometimes translate to hunger so be sure that you're watching your fluid consumption, too.
Yesterday I noticed that despite eating my usual pre-ride meal, I was hungry on the bike almost immediately. I was rather frustrated in that I ate a pretty big dinner the night before too, and don't know what more I can do. I find it hard to eat a lot in the morning--it makes me kind of nauseous. It's not bad right now since our club rides start at 10, but as they get earlier and earlier, I think it's going to be hard to wolf down more than the bare minimum.
Live with intention. Walk to the edge. Listen hard. Practice wellness. Play with abandon. Laugh. Choose with no regret. Continue to learn. Appreciate your friends. Do what you love. Live as if this is all there is.
