WHAT????!! NO pics of bikerz pushing her Seven drugs on us?? She even brought the brochure over! HOw cruel is that??

Oh and then she, badger and bikemomma have to tell me horror stories of carbon bikes.

She is a beautiful bike and I'm really, really glad you found something you love, bikerz. It's about time. We have to organize a ..."bike warming ride" when you get it

The lunatic in the hat gesturing strangely at Bikerz is me, and the more normal (may I say lovely?) unidentified person is Melissam. All I can say about that photo is that I hope I look even slightly better than that from some other angle (????).

I owe everyone an apology (although it sounds like most of you were too high on lemon drops to care ) because I was one of those HORRIBLE people I hate at dinner- had a work crisis come up right before I got there, so spent the entire meal typing madly on my Blackberry and rushing out to answer my phone. Still was very nice to meet you all, though!

I promise to behave better next time.

Oh, and I owe Bikerz and Melissam $2.06 each, I won't forget.

That's me in the first dinner picture in the white shirt - looking, but not feeling, rather glum. Also in that pic are my friends (non-TE-ers, as yet) Shelley, in the denim jacket, and Maren, in the black shirt. Kjay is to the right of me. In the next shot with Spazz is Lisa, another from my group, and Kit, in the yellow shirt.

It was a fun evening - and all I drank was iced tea ! Bikegoddess showed off an AV jersey to all and Snap promised that sometime in the future there would be ONE more order frenzy. Jobob passed out Sport Beans to all and we each got a "glass" slipper from Snap which is now on my bike bag. Thanks to both of you! Ace, hope your work problem got ironed out, but more importantly, I really hope your knee issue gets resolved before your trip to Italy.

I tend to lurk much more than post, but it was great to meet those that I did and attached faces to the names of those of you who are more regular posters.

I looked around at the rest stops and lunch for familiar faces, but didn't see any. We all look so different in cycling gear as opposed to street clothes. Helmets and sunglasses hide a lot. And, of course, many dress a bit crazy for the ride. Shelley sported a bright blue boa and silver lame skirt and arm warmers. Maren's helmet and Camelbak were decked out in yellow and orange feathers. We all had tiaras attached to our helmets. I only took a few pictures and am waiting for the ones others took to be emailed to me. I'll try to post them soon.

Did any of you see the woman with the latex backside, complete with thong, worn over her shorts? She was in front of me coming through Danville. Interesting "view" to have while riding along!

The weather was perfect and the after lunch Livermore Valley winds were managable. I hope all who rode had a great day.

What a special welcome to see so many TE gals at the expo when I finally rolled in. What a fabulous ride! I highly recommend the full century to everyone next year. Such a beautiful time of year; the hills were lush and green!

Seeing you all brought back lots of memories. I sure miss you all. I hope to join you all soon on a TE ride. How about May? I have three more centuries between now and then. I think I have gone a little crazy....

Kudos to the Cinderella organizers - registration was smooth and the signs were fantastic - especially on the Century portion of the ride. Whoo! I had never been up Patterson Pass - it gave me and my compact double a workout!
    Cheers!

Oh gosh! What a beautiful day you gals had. Where's the envy smilyface? The weather here is like last year's Cindy just now -- rain, sleet, full gale headwinds in every direction. The only thing we're missing is the dead skunk. DH and I are wavering back and forth on whether to take the bikes with us out to Smøla (an island WSW of here) Wednesday. The forecast is worse and worse (from small gale to full gale to storm, rain and more rain) the next few days, but hey, it could lighten up before we head home again ...? Not?
Half-marathon over. Sabbatical year over. It's back to "sacking shirt and oat cakes" as they say here.

Sorry Rogue...I have the pic up on my MySpace page and I thought I was linking you to it. I guess you can't PM attachments, so I'll have to post it here. Sorry for the OT-ness, folks. Rogue and Badger (and I) were talking about carbon bikes after BZ flashed us with her Seven brochure at the Cindy dinner and I told them about this picture.

    So without further ado....

Not all it's *cracked* up to be?

(ha ha ha, oooh, I crack myself up)

Great *snap*-shot! (heee heee, I did it again!)

(it wasn't me, the SPAM made me do it! )

My LBS likes to praise steel, 'cuz it gives you lots of warning before it fails. "Dude, it was like riding on spaghetti and it was makin' all this noise, and then I realized the top-tube was coming loose from the head tube. I'd seen the crack for the last 3 months, but didn't realize it was this bad. Can you fix it?" Uh-huh.

Well, I did the Cinderella (metric) and had a blast! My first event. I trained with a group of women from my sports club. The training was great. I found the experience fun and felt very well prepared. The weather was perfect and the day glorious. Our group left early and got a fast start out.
I exceeded all my goals!! What can I say--I went from being a true beginner to learning how to ride in a group safely, to pace- lining, and learning about road safety. Looking forward to many more miles ahead....
