Sorry I'm late - been visiting with family. It was my understanding from the Tour of 2004 according to some verbal exchanges between the commentators: Lance broke Marcos record based on the distance that Marco was timed - which was not the same distance as the time trail. (either the start gate was farther back or the finish line was farther up - I don't remember which) I never heard anymore from anyone else about it tho - only that day and only from the "boys" Phil and Paul.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"
