    Daily rides 16 March

I couldn't find the daily ride thread, so maybe it hasn't started yet?

My 8 mile commute was gorgeous today! Balmy warm, sunny, blue sky and fluffy white clouds. The birds were going crazy and flowers are blooming everywhere! All the flowering trees are covered with pink, purple, and white blooms. Waves of perfume-y smells were just flooding the road from all these flowers. Every block was a new smell.

Oh, and the ocean was lovely and blue and sparkly, and the Olympic mountains were covered with new crisp white snow, and the trees on the islands were looking dark deep and mysterious.

Sittin' on my back porch right now, in capris and barefoot. The sun has gone down but it's still warm. Dog is lying in the grass, tied to the arm of my wooden rocking chair. I'm rocking and he's sniffing the breezes.

    That's right, rub it in.

(19 degrees, and snowed in by an 8-20" blizzard at the moment)

    sounds heavenly....

It certainly was a gorgeous day here in the Portland area!

I've been commuting to work since Tuesday because one of our cars was in the shop. We got it back Wednesday, but I still rode to work the rest of the week. I think I'm becoming a bike commuter!

Ok...so it's only 2 miles to work. But by the time I get done with errands afterwards the miles start adding up!

Normally I don't post about my commutes, but todays was especially nice. I did don arm warmers for the ride in against a head wind in the 60s, but then got to ride in shirtsleeves and shorts with a tail wind and 70s all the way home. 16 miles total. I am so glad winter is behind us!

Since I have a ride with 8,000 feet of climbing next Saturday, I did a climbing ride. I started off with a jacket but shed halfway through the climb. Want to shed my tights, but they didn't have zippers, so I couldn't, wound with 15 miles and 1,000 feet.
