I could've ridden my bike this afternoon, but instead I went to REI with my friend.

I couldn't find ANYTHING to buy with my dividend and 20% off coupon.

    Sad.

(although there was this very cute titanium spork...)

I had hoped to find pants or a black wool t-shirt. The pants (men's, cuz women's clothes at REI are ludicrous) didn't fit, but they were so close. They didn't have the wool t-shirt at all.

Might have to go back for the ti spork. (lessee, umm, $7.95 at 20% off is what, $6.35?) Admirable use of my coupon.

(actually, I'll probably order the wool t-shirt over the internet)

My dividend this year was a whopping $62! I have no idea how I spent so much darned money (especially since I finished grad school in May)! Now to decide what to spend it on. Maybe put it towards some outdoor climbing gear, so I can actually DO some of that this summer instead of relying in my friends who have gear to get themselves together and go.

I just got back from spending mine. They will let you cash it out as well.

    That won't be necessary.

My $3 dividend and 20% coupon cost me $90+: new gloves, new helmet, and a stockpile of Shot Bloks and Sport beans. Happy birthday to me.

That's funny, Nicole. But you deserve a present--happy birthday!

I'm embarrassed to admit that my dividend is $161, with over half from the REI visa. I'm really embarrassed to admit that I spent over $1300 at REI last year outfitting myself for winter/bad weather commuting and just generally being self-indulgent (though some of it was glucosamine chondroitin dog treats for my arthritic dog and some was spent on gift cards for the dog walker, etc). I've got just about everything I could possibly need now, so maybe I'll stick with the austerity program and cash it out. Trouble is, you have to actually go into the store to cash it out, and then all bets are off.

$161 is embarassing to you? In that case, I won't tell you what ours is We use the REI Visa religiously for everything (groceries, gas, etc.). The interesting thing on our statement was that 70% of our REI purchases were sale items and non-dividenable.

Still, I'm thinking my 20% coupon is going to be for a quality floor pump--one that should last longer than 2 years.

I use my REI Visa for everything too...including deposits and payments for the AV Jersey order.

My new Sidi shoes will arrive next week......
