I know what you are going through. Getting sick sucks, but stressing over the lost training is self defeating. Better to just count this as soft training week and then pick it up again when you are feeling better.
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

I hear ya ladies. And honestly, it sounds like a few of you got it a lot worse than I am getting it.

This year has been the worst for horrible bugs going around!

Well, I have a really sore and scratchy throat... sneezing and my body has been achy. I am skipping swimming tonight with the hope that I can hit my spin class on Wed. and run Thurs.

If I have to skip workouts though, the spin class and swimming with go... so I can run and ride this weekend.

Now, I just hope my blisters are gone so I can run.

Does anyone use Airborne or Zicam? I swear by Airborne, DH likes the Zicam. Both are with the cold medicines in the store. Everytime I feel the slightest bit off, like I might be fighting something, I take a couple of those and I'm fine. I also take some if people at work are sick, and everytime I travel.

I hope everyone gets better soon!

I had NASTY colds this summer and fall, but I have been cold free (knock virtual wood) since, despite, among other things, being exposed to -sick coworkers (ok I probably did the same to them when I had my cold in Sept) -being extremely overtired and flying through 5 different cities (Thank you, American) after the big mid-Feb storm and -cuckoo weather fluctuations in New England this winter.

I was taking airborne like a fiend in the fall. Since then I have only taken it a few times but I too think it helps immensely. It gives just an extra boost, but you have to be very attuned to yourself and take it the moment you notice ANYTHING amiss. For me, if I already have a sore throat, that's too late. No, I have to notice the very faint almost indescribable feeling I get before the sore throat.

But, yes, it has been going around ALL OVER the country... perhaps even affecting our friends to the North. Strange indeed.
