I usually wear Terry Bella shorts, but I decided to try the Shebeest SSS that are on sale here. I like thick lycra and a lower waist, so I thought these might work. They do fit perfectly and I particularly like the grippers. The chamois feels right when I'm just walking around, but yesterday I wore them for a 30 minute interval work out on the trainer. It felt like the padding was a bit thin (?). The diameter was good, but it just felt a little raw. I am witholding judgement until I wear them out on the road, because on the trainer, I don't feel the same about much!
As far as the chamois still being wet, I notice there is a big difference in the drying rate among the different shorts my husband has and some of mine. We each have at least one kind that takes longer to dry. Are you hanging them up inside out? That helps.

The chamois in the elite distance shorts do take a bit longer to dry (compared to my SSS shorts), but it is a pretty substantial century level pad. I wouldn't worry about it on the road though. I have worn mine on some 40 mile rides in Houston over the summer (read, really hot with high humidity... my hair looks like it has already been washed when I get home it is so wet) and also in spin class, so they get really sweaty. I have never noticed the chamois feeling wet or soggy... I only notice how wet it is when I take them off to shower. They seem to do a good job it wicking the sweat away from the body while I am riding.

    Shebeest Ultra D Review

I bought the Ultra Ds after an informative conversation with a TE customer service person. I LOVE THESE SHORTS! I wore them for the first time today and I have never, ever been as comfortable. My other shorts are PI (two different styles) and the LG bibs. I thought the LG bibs were heaven, but the Ultra Ds are even better.

I am ordering another pair asap!

Yes, I did the same thing- wore the first pair a couple of times, then just had to order a second pair so I wouldn't have to search for just the right shorts again for a long time to come. The Ultra D's are great!

AHHHH! Wore my Sheebest SSS to spin 2 weeks ago and got the very first saddle sore of my life. Not on my rear end, either, if you get my drift. I felt it developing during the class, but I didn't see anything. That night, when I went to bed, there it was. I was in pretty bad pain for about a week. Thinking maybe it was a combination of the different position on a spin bike and the new shorts, I wore them again on the road; they hurt like h***. I looked at the chamois comparing it to the Terry Bellas. It's the same shape, but thicker and the seams seem to have some kind of weird stitching. There are other "lines" where the different shapes of the chamois meet that seem to be chafing me, too.
It's too bad, because they look good on me and feel OK when I'm not riding. What a waste of $. I am going to stick to what works.
