I Love love love my Shebeest shorts! I have a pair of the SSS and the pedal pusher knickers which both have their middle Chamois (blue one), I also have a pair of the elite distance shorts, and just ordered another pair. This has their grey chamois for long distance rides, so it is thicker.
I don't like PI shorts because of the chamois, but love the Shebeest ones. So, if you love the PI chamois you might not like the Shebeest one. I find that chamois is well shaped, has varying desnsities of foam in different parts, no seams, and doesn't do the whole diper butt thing.
Other things I like are that the lycra isn't the shiney kind, but nice and matt and thick. They have a nice contoured waistband, high in the back and scoops down below my belly button in the front. And the leg grippers aren't the clear plasticy kind, but are more like little dotts along the bottom edge of the shorts.
One word of warning about the elite distance shorts. They have a mesh pannel on the small of the back. I really like it, but I know some people get worried that there is the chance that it will expose things they don't want exposed. I have never had that problem (or at least no one ever tole me I did) it sits above my butt more on the small of my back, and I have a rather ample rear end.
REI had these shorts on sale too... I wonder if Shebeest is changing the short or chamois? hmmm... contemplating buying another pair.....
PA Badger - you and I have the same stuff!! I also like that they're a heavier material.
I have the knickers and the Elite distance shorts. I have worn both on double centuries and love them. (The knickers I wore on my 600k). They are great shorts.
About that mesh panel, though... I worse those shorts at the ESDC in June, and then for several days afterward I had this super itchy spot on my back, right above my butt. I figured I got a bite or something, and then my DH says - "OMG your butt is totally sunburned!" I had a square patch of sunburn where the mesh was (though you really can't see anything through the mesh when the shorts are on.) Anyway, if you get those, you may want to put some sunscreen down there....

Shebeest is making some changes for 2007.
1) Elite Distance shorts are going away. We've marked down our remaining stock here: http://www.teamestrogen.com/products.asp?pID=12919 FYI are are being replaced with a short called the Ultra D. An improved Century Chamois and more supportive/compressive fabric.
2) SSS Shorts - the Shestretch chamois is being updated for 2007, so we've put the old ones on sale. http://www.teamestrogen.com/products.asp?pID=12919
3) Same story with the pedal pushers: http://www.teamestrogen.com/products.asp?pID=9954
Stock is limited.... when they're gone, they're gone!
Has anyone tried their new styles? I've been wearing PI shorts and they are... chafing... to sensitive areas on long rides.![]()
Has anyone tried Shebeest's new "SheLastic Chamois?" Thinking about trying the SSS shorts. Or do y'all prefer the "CompressTech Century Stretch chamois?"
Among those whom I like or admire, I can find no common denominator,
but among those whom I love, I can: all of them make me laugh.

I have a pair of Shebeests with the "SheLastic" chamois. I like them a lot and find the chamois to be just right, neither too thick (diaper butt) or too thin (ouch). The leg elastic is snug without feeling too tight.
I also have pairs of 2007 Terry knickers and tights that seem to have the same chamois.
Sugoi Evolutions with the Ricaro2 chamois are also a comfy fit for me.
PI is my least favorite brand. I know a lot of women like the Sugar Short, but I only wear them if nothing else is clean.

Hmm...two similar threads going on at the same time.![]()
I have Shebeest knickers(capris) and also their long tights- both with she-lastic chamois....I LOVE them!! (and they don't stick out like weird diaper-butt shelf effect) So far I've ridden them on 40 mile rides and done fine. Th eone time I tried on PI shorts (2 diff styles and various sizes) I hated the way the cahmois stuck out like a ridged shelf in the back....NO WAY! I'll stick with Shebeest and Louis Garneau brands for the most part, I like them both- VERY comfortable and well fitting.

Ok, so after reading this thread, I decided to order some Shebeest Elite Distance 2 Shorts. Here's my question:
After I got them and determined that they fit, I threw them in the washing machine and put them on the line to air dry. Two days later I was excited to wear them. I put them on and soon discovered that they(the chamios part) weren't dry yet. Anybody else have a problem with long drying time? My worry is that if I were to wear them on a long ride, I would be sitting in a puddle of sweat for hours on end. I was hoping they would dry in at least a reasonable amount of time. The sensation I got when I tried them on was that they weren't wicking away the moisture.
Keep in mind that I live in Utah, so humidity isn't an issue here.
I do like them, but the dry time has me concerned.
If you can read this, take a pull.
I usually wear Terry Bella shorts, but I decided to try the Shebeest SSS that are on sale here. I like thick lycra and a lower waist, so I thought these might work. They do fit perfectly and I particularly like the grippers. The chamois feels right when I'm just walking around, but yesterday I wore them for a 30 minute interval work out on the trainer. It felt like the padding was a bit thin (?). The diameter was good, but it just felt a little raw. I am witholding judgement until I wear them out on the road, because on the trainer, I don't feel the same about much!
As far as the chamois still being wet, I notice there is a big difference in the drying rate among the different shorts my husband has and some of mine. We each have at least one kind that takes longer to dry. Are you hanging them up inside out? That helps.
The chamois in the elite distance shorts do take a bit longer to dry (compared to my SSS shorts), but it is a pretty substantial century level pad. I wouldn't worry about it on the road though. I have worn mine on some 40 mile rides in Houston over the summer (read, really hot with high humidity... my hair looks like it has already been washed when I get home it is so wet) and also in spin class, so they get really sweaty. I have never noticed the chamois feeling wet or soggy... I only notice how wet it is when I take them off to shower. They seem to do a good job it wicking the sweat away from the body while I am riding.
I bought the Ultra Ds after an informative conversation with a TE customer service person. I LOVE THESE SHORTS!I wore them for the first time today and I have never, ever been as comfortable. My other shorts are PI (two different styles) and the LG bibs. I thought the LG bibs were heaven, but the Ultra Ds are even better.
I am ordering another pair asap!
