    What happens when that happens?

I mean, when somebody dangerously breeches group riding etiquette, do they get cussed at, chewed out, kicked out or do people just grit their teeth and endure?

I always listen to my mp3 player on the stationary or trainer when I'm able to do it. I don't listen to anything but the wind and road noises outdoors, but indoors I get a great workout.
Don't think of it as getting hot flashes. Think of it as your inner child playing with matches

When I finally figured out what happened I just pulled off and let him pass. I mean, he couldn't hear me anyway. What he did wasn't dangerous just rude. I personally don't draft anyone I don't know since I don't know how safe it will be and I certainly don't cut into the middle of a line without asking. There was a very small gap at the time, but it was obvious we were riding as a group due to the lack of variety in the jerseys (3 different ones for only 8 people and all women but one).

In other circumstances, I'll try to give him a little polite education. When you're wearing earphones, all bets are off. At least I don't yank the earphones off anyone. I know someone who does that to anyone attempting to ride in a pack and wear phones at the same time.

I know the group I ride with does NOT allow headphones because we have a rotating paceline and ride in major traffic. Personally, when Im on the path alone in the early morning, its ok to me as long as the volume isnt too loud to where I couldnt here anything and Im riding it safe. But, when I get on the road, the headphones come off and get put away, so I can use all of my senses to keep from getting hit and help me get where I need to go. Also, it's illegal where Im at to wear headphones while riding a bicycle on the road, so there's extra incentive not to wear them while on the road.

Kitsune, last time I tried that I got chewed out royally. And half of the posts on this thread are about paceline etiquette.
