Well, I'm back down to where I was before the holiday and a couple of bouts with a bug...
I've recently started reading 'Taming the Feast Beast' and it's very, very enlightening for me. I'm one of those people who knows what I should be eating to be healthy and yet I just don't do it like I should. I have resisted 'getting back on track' a lot in the past year and a half. This book is really helping me see the difference between my 'feast beast' whining about wanting to eat totally unnecessary crap and my rational brain knowing what foods are best for both my performance and my well-being. By turning my 'feast beast' into a separate entity in my head, I can fight it. For example, when I see something yummy at the coffee shop and I'm tempted to buy it, I think to myself "shut it, beast". "Ha, ha on you...you don't have arms and you can't eat that treat if I don't want you to" "Get lost!". It works! I know it sounds crazy, but I've been successful for a week and all my post-holiday bloat is gone. I can't wait to see what the next week will hold for me.
Anyway, just thought I'd mention it for anyone else struggling with the eating part of being healthy/losing weight.![]()
