I suppose. Just don't have too much fun reading personal posts.

The pie was a mistake. Actually I made a mistake. I could blame it on the recipe paper being really grody and I couldn't read it, or the fact that Thom wasn't here to cut up the apples for me, or PTSD... I left out a whole cup of shortening! I should have taste tested!

I don't know if we'll even eat anymore of it. Thom's comment, "It tastes like store bought."

I'll need to make up for it with a pot pie I guess. Or maybe beef and beer stew with dumplings.

How about heating up a slice and putting a huge scoop of ice cream on top? Wouldn't want to waste apples, and you'd get the plus of adding dairy!

    I'm so sorry

V - DH is an equisite pie maker, (a big reason why we are married, but that's another story). He says that when a pie does not turn out you simply have to chuck it, have a good cry (grieving is part of the process) and make another. Little does he know that I would sift thru the trash to find his cast-offs. He says it's part of moving on and forgetting the past, living in the moment. I say "whatever, I'm eatin it".

We got a gift from one of my clients. She runs an orchard. One of these apples is supposed to make a whole pie. It was even delicious.

    I'm on vacation.

Yesterday I made a chicken pot pie for dinner. This morning I made an apple pie. After rereading this thread I decided I simply had to make sure that this time it turned out all right.
