If we don't have a single snow day we will be finished on May 25th (only 89 more days to teach!). We, however, started on August 3rd Regardless I would like at least one snow day just so I can jump up and down in my living room and crawl back in bed with a huge smile on my face.

I want a snow day too! None last year in NC and none this year so far. Weird, warm winter in the east (except for today - brrrrr!) I'm not a teacher, but if we get enough snow, my company closes. Even if it's just a bit of snow, I can work from home instead of dealing with the roads. I've enjoyed having a warm winter, but I'd like just one little snow. Pretty please?

P.S. They close schools here in NC at the faintest hint of snow because of all the busses, I guess.

Hah! No snow days here at the SEA AMC! The mail must go out, through wind, hail, sleet, snow: darkness of night is a given considering I work graveyard.

However, out of a total crew of around 120 employees on my tour, about 30 of us showed up. It's just too hard to get down those hills, and then GET BACK UP! It's not the getting down part that's so hard, it really is terrifying to try to get back up some of them.

    Snow Day

We've got a snow day here, which is fine for the kids, but I've still got to go to work and I'm not sure my car can make it safely out of the hill here in my apt complex.

I have AWD and lots of snowy driving experience, but those don't help you much on ice!

(considering my job is at the bottom of a hill, I think we'll have lots of cancelled appts. That and all the parents staying home with kids.)

<snort> work just called to tell me the clinic is still open, but some therapists are staying home because of the snow and kids off school. The patients aren't cancelling, though. And the assistants all have to come in to cover.

Gonna be a hoppin' busy day for us assistants today!

(too bad I can't get those PT's staying home with their kids to babysit mine while they're at it! SKnot'll be home alone for 12 hrs. Lucky boy!)

believe it or not, i'm at work. DH put chains on the pickup and drove me here.
On the way, I took a photo of a young female bicyclist, i promise i will upload it when i get home.
half of the big b's employees stayed home.
Every street is a sheet of ice. we have sandbags in the PU and chains on !
the temp stayed at 32 all night and this morning the wind picked up and the temp dropped.

it's 30 now and supposed to drop more as the day progresses. be careful knot!

Sorry for those of you who have to venture out in this stuff! Like my poor hubby this morning! I tried to persuade him to stay home but he said he had to go in . . . meetings! We live in Bonney Lake and he works in Renton, he works in one of those big buildings on the right just as you go under 405 into Renton . . . I believe Renton 2. Anyway, I told him not take 167 but go the back streets. East Valley through Auburn. I doubt he listened to me!

Me . . . just add another snow day to my tally. This makes number five to make up at the end of the school year! I think school will be in session, at this rate until July!

Hey, with the way this snow and cold is coming at us, do you think the Interurban/Green River Trail will be ridable by Sunday or Monday?

My daughter is home again. No classes at GRCC. I also tried calling my son this morning, he is away at school at EWU in Cheney, but no answer in his dorm room and he's not picking up on his cell. I'm worried about him too. Sigh . . . I hate this winter so far! Grrrrrrrr

Well everyone stay warm and safe out there!
