Anybody here seen "Children of Men"? It's a violent, sad, frightening, a little bit hopeful film, I liked it a lot. I'm in a kind of emotional zombie state right now. Wow.

Have not seen that movie, Snap - don't think I want to after your description.

I make tons of typos. I try hard to catch them before I submit though. I am getting used to spelling have "ahve" and just "jsut".

I jsut rode 10.5 km!!!! On the snow and ice!!! At 27 degreess F!!! This is big for me. I was scared on the really icey bits but got used to it. My face is numb and my toes got cold. I wore my hiking boots which are much warmer than my bike shoes (since I was on regular pedals on my mtbike). I haven't been out on my bike for 6 weeks and I probably won't be out again for another 6 weeks but I just couldn't stand not going for one more ride before 2007. So I managed to do 2775 km this year (my goal was 500k). And I just noticed when I added the ride on bikejournal that it was my 100th ride of the year! Too cool. Glad I did it.

    Happy New Year everyone!

KG - don't get me wrong, it was a good film. Not one you'd want to see if you are having a down day though.

Now that I know I can go to a movie on my own ( ), next up is either The Queen or Pan's Labyrinth.

Yesterday I went shopping and bought myself new slippers - they are wonderfull! They're by Acorn, called Chinchilla Booties. Wool on the outside, and soft fake fur on the inside! Call me toasty toes!

Here's a link to some pic's of the Battle Trek - studded tires, fenders, lights. A truly sturdy looking bike!

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I read the book when it came out several years ago (kind of a departure for P. D. James). The book was pretty intense - I can only imagine what the movie is like. I'm glad to see you recommend it.

And CC, I aw "The Queen" last week - loved it - and I agree with you that Helen Mirren is amazing - and so was the guy who played Blair.
    Keep calm and carry on...

So, BMo3 has me completely laughing/crying here with picking ringtones for her new phones. Here's a little sample...

Weird Al - A Complicated Song (parody of Avril Levigne's song)

    Tell me
Why'd you have to go and make me so constipated?
'Cause right now I'd do anything to just get my bowels evacuated
In the bathroom ... I sit and I wait and I strain
And I sweat and I clench and I feel the pain
Oh, should I take laxatives or have my colon irrigated?
    No no no

    ---------------------------

    So, moving on...

CWR - come hang with us on yahoo messenger tonight. We'll have group... um, no wait, what's the word... a conference. Yeah that's it.

Kit - Some days in this life, you wake up and go WTF?? In a few days, you will be in your new home. YOUR new home. In the meanwhile, smile and embrace all that is good in your life. Now quite yer crying ya punk and come hang out on Yahoo!! (btw, I know where I'd put the compost pile...)

Snap - I've got my smartwool socks on too! I just love 'em. Hey, send me the deleted posts! I missed everything today.

Knot - I love Zoolander! Try to have fun without your sweetie. At least you will be able to talk on the phone during the countdown.

Trek and Knot- have a wonderful new year and life - together.

Hey ya Crazy Canuck!! Happy New Year!!

To all of those above and everyone else I didn't mention... have a happy and safe year filled with family, friends, loved ones and many miles of non-chafed (bike/byke) riding!!

    I spoil my dog.

For dinner tonight he got an ENTIRE bowl of chicken stew, and I even warmed it up a little in the microwave.

Mind you, the stew was a failure in my estimation. Not my usual crock-pot production. And it was getting old. But dog doesn't know that. He just thinks I love him all special today...
