I did it! Went for my last outdoor ride for 2006. Haven't been on the bike outside since Nov. 9th so made myself go today and wouldn't you know it, it turned out to be my 100th ride on bikejournal - I hadn't even noticed!

We did 10.5 km, it was about 27 degrees F, and the roads were more or less dry but the bike lane was snow and ice so it was a bit scary. Took the mtbike to be on the safe side.

My goal for 2006 was originally 500km.

I did 2775 km in total (on 3 bikes, my old bike, my mtbike, and my road bike)
    100 rides.
Avg speed 21.8 kmh overall (early avg was 16-20, later avg was 24-27)
    Max speed 63 kmh
    Total hours 132:38

I am happy with my accomplishments this year!

I did two rides today so that I could make my milage goal....I did one this morning, it was about 20 degrees, tried out my new booties and my headgator and well I wore regular winter gloves not cycle gloves but I was to do 18 miles without freezing. then I went out with the group in the afternoon when it was a little warmer high 30's I think and I did another 27 miles. In my 1st full year of cycling I have done 3503 miles. I am happy

    I rode a horse. I expect that doesn't count...

    Happy new year everyone!

Mountain biked - nothing like a 1,000 foot gain in less than three miles to get your heart rate up.

Chilly (8C/45F)and overcast again, but no rain (to start). Managed 28km and BONK...just ran out of legs halfway through my ride and 28km from home. I thought I had everything right...bike, food, clothing, but I guess itwas just one of those days. Slogged the last 28km into a cold headwind with spitting rain, but managed a total of 56km for the last ride of the year.

Wishing you all the best for 2007,

    ~Sherry.

Yesterday I realized that I needed only 60 more miles to have 4000 for the year, so today I rode 62.75 miles. Mid-fifties, some clouds, some sun. From home, up the easy side of Pig Farm, around the Bears, then up the hard side of Pig Farm and back home.

Logged 40 miles, starting just before sunrise. It was cloudy and relatively mild (40 degrees or so). No fog, unlike Saturday's pea soup.
