    trek - you're funny!!!

    Here's da plan:

saturday 1/6. meet at 12:30, to roll at 1. should be warmer by then.

meet: mill valley middle school. (take hwy 101 to tiburon blvd./e. blithedale - turn west toward mill valley. at 3rd light (camino alto) go LEFT. at next light (sycamore) go LEFT. park at lot on left at end of rd.)

route: 55 miles w/plenty of ways to make shorter or longer. mostly rollers w/ a couple of actual climbs. as my HR is to be below a certain # I go 3 mph on most of the climbs. so there.

food: route takes you by organic ice cream, coffee houses, possibly a bakery or 2.

maps: I will throw something together.

rain: well, if its super nasty we may skip to the champagne part of the ride early.

after ride: stop by my house for champagne and snacks of some sort. (dont get your hopes up on the food. my strength is the beverage part.)

bonus: if anyone does keel over, I will just have been recertified in cpr and may actually remember it's "x" number of compressions to "x" number of breaths, etc....

If this sinus infection I got for Christmas has cleared up by then I would love to join you guys too. Haven't seen some of you (Jo and Trek) in a while, and have wanted to meet the rest of you! I should know by mid-week if it is a go. Also, any south bay folks want to car pool? I would be willing to meet somewhere. Let me know.

This sounds like fun, and I'd like to join you, but will let you know for certain a few days before. I haven't ridden 50 miles in a while, but I know that I can. (I'm from the San Mateo area.)

P.S. Is there a SAG vehicle?

me: "Hey Lee, looks like Sarah's ride is on for next Saturday. We'll be riding in Marin again!"

Lee: "Will it be as hard as todays ride?"

    me: "I don't think so ... "

    Lee: "OK, fine with me!"

I for one was sold at the organic ice cream, coffee houses and bakeries...

    Hmm...

I'd love to join you guys, but would anyone want to do less than the 55 miles with me? I haven't ridden that far in a few months. I could probably do it, but I wouldn't say for sure right now that I'd be very happy about it. I could hold us a table at the ice cream place.

The good news is that it looks like it should be sunny...

winddance, I'd be more than happy to do less than 50 with you. I am wondering if you all know one another? I haven't met any of you yet, but it would be a good opportunity to do so.

Windance, I was wondering where you've been ! Welcome back.

No worries kjay, we all hit it off really well. Some of us have known each other for some time now, and others, perhaps a couple of us have met once or twice, if that. But you know what? We all enjoy cycling and it's all good.

    Know - like biblically?

    Just couldn't resist.

SK has a great giggle and can always be counted on to make you smile. An excellent ride leader - her maps actually work.

Jobob is a sandbagger extraordinaire. She says she's slow, but she's not. She knows all the great pizza places. Probably for the beer though, not the pizza.

MP has the greatest laugh and I want her hair. Now that she's been off the bike for six months, we mere mortals have slightly better than a snowball's chance in h'e'll of staying with her. Her hubby has awesome calves. Come for the calves...

Trek and winddance I have no dirt on, although I have met both. They are probably the most normal in the group.

snap has what I think of as an intelligent sense of humor, dry, slightly sardonic - I have wanted to use that word since I was a teenager. All the men in Harlequin romances had sardonic eyebrows. What does that mean? Anyway... she tells good stories.

Kim is like snap, but quieter. Although sardonic doesn't quite work for me with Kim. I know that she doesn't snore. Oh and she climbs like a demon.

I've only spent a day with Deanna. But she let me use her shower! A truly kind person.

Me - well... I'm 5'8", 120 pounds, naturally red hair, green eyes. I can maintain 20 mph for 30 - 40 miles on the flat and produce over 500 watts. I'm amazingly erudite and intelligent with a wicked sense of humor. I make great cookies.

Most of what I've said is true...

I would definately be up for the shorter loop option. I am still recovering from a sinus infection, I feel fine, but have very little voice still.

Anyone else from the south bay still thinking about going and want to carpool? if you want me to drive I can put my bike on my roof rack, and have room for one in my trunk with the back seats down. Let me know.
