Great story, Snap! I am impressed that you got through without a sink!!

Sorry about the windows, Nanci. That blows.

    Happy Christmas, TD!!

(Oh - and I rode yesterday. And again today. I am TERRIBLE! I did 3 double centuries and a 600k brevet this year and this week 20 miles does me in. But I am on my bike and not coughing up blood, so I got that going for me!!)

Just don't over do like me. My first ride back from my fracture , I did Glendora Mountain Road (40 miles 4,500+ feet of climbing) , and I pretty much sucked.

    Can I just WHINE???

I am so hungry- waiting for BF to get home so we can go to friends for dinner. I'm at that stage where I am starting to shake and sweat.

My second favorite snake has started biting. Zee. Mr. Perfect Birthday Snake. Not like he's afraid- like he's going to eat me? Why? I am afraid of him, because he is venomous. Nice. Is he smelling soap and thinking I am oging to feed him???

BF gave me Christmas Snake money, and likely friend who gave me Birthday Snake habitat money is giving me the same for Christmas, but I can't even get excited because I am so depressed about Zee.

My house is going to melt away.

    That's all.

    MP- it'll come back.

    Nanci

Snap - so glad the dinner went off without a hitch. Here's a thought for the future, just in case... I have an S.O who insists on putting things down the disposal that don't belong there. Constantly backing up the pipes. So, I went to Home Depot and bought a replacement piece that is rubber and is held at each end by a hose clamp. Now I can remove the piece very easily with a screwdriver and snake away without having to cut or de-solder anything. Because of where I placed it, I can go back towards the sink or forward towards the main without a hassle. No leaks after 7 years in there. Plenty of snaking though.

Duck - sure, print it out and take it along. I happened across that rendition last year while I was a student. Hope he likes it.

Nanci - sorry to hear about the leak. Don't be too hard on Zee, he's just acting like the snake he was born to be. Don't go around cramping his style now. Just keep the local poison control number handy.

Kit - now you know you need a keeper sometimes woman, admit it. And who better than your sisters to watch over you? I think I've left you in the best hands possible, besides my own. (hmmm, that didn't come out right... ) Uh, anyway, just chill sis and let the good times roll.... Happy to hear you had a good xmas this year. Ya know, I have a feeling that it still has room to get even better. Tonight's fortune cookie says: "Be nice to the postie and he'll be nice to you." Hmmm, wonder what that means?

Well, gotta go up to the NICU and do my thang. Be well all.

Oh, goodie! You'll get to see the salmon-with-a-suitcase! (in the floor in the B wing at Sea Tac) B14 is at the far end of the B wing, so you get to see lots of the fishies in the floor!

I need a keeper? Really? And all this time, I thought I could go with just anyone! yes, yes, har har.

Yes, my sisters take good care of me, but ...uh... I don't need to be in anyone's hands right now...

I like that fortune cookie. How nice do I have to be to the postie?

Snap-way to pull through without a functioning kitchen sink.

MP-Nice to hear you are riding again.

Nanci-I am sorry to hear about the leaking, water damage and snake bites!

Knot-I need to fly out west just to see the salmon.

    Trek-great pun!

Kit- now how can we leave you alone if you plan to go off with just anyone?

Xmas dinner: cauliflower salad, parmesan and wine crusted baked salmon, pesto and garlic pork tenderloin, squash, roasted potatoes, homemade icecream. (and lots of nuts, cheese, fudge, etc.)

Post-drive-home snack: Tim's Cascade Wasabi potato chips and plum-gummies.

    Ooooh, yeah!

(one thing you can always count on around here on special occaisions: salmon! Hope you like salmon, Trek, cuz I guarantee you there will be salmon when we go to my mom's...) (and you'll get to see the salmon tiles in the floor at the airport, too)

Well I *can't* go off with just anyone, obviously... X just corrected me. So rest assured, Jen. Apparently I need a 'keeper'. Anyone know where I can find one? I suspect the right one is hiding in plain sight- one of those that gets overlooked by everyone else cuz my name's on her. Well, I can hope, right?

    Knot-your dinner sounded delightfully wonderful.

Welcome back CWR! It is your turn, as I must go to sleep. My old body needs lots of sleep.

Now Kit, be good for CWR.

    Goodnight TD!

well, it's almost over. M-i-L went to her granddaughter's for one night.
She'll be back with us tonight, and then is leaving via bus or one of my sons tomorrow depending on whether it is snowing in the mountain passes or not.

Having her around is tough. She has alzheimers. She used to be difficult for me to be around but now add no short term memory to that.
We have to follow her around and open doors that she's shut and shut other door so she doesn't get lost.
At least 2 times each evening she loses her room, and that includes midnight of
christmas eve where she went up and down the hall (right next to my bedroom) and opened and shut the noisy sliding door to the closet about 10 times. DH slept blissfully through that one. I finally got up and discovered she'd misplaced her purse again. I told her to go to bed, we'd find it in the morning.
DH made her santa claus which means she had to hand out the presents.
I think it broke my kids' hearts because she forgot who is who and was trying very hard to get clues from our faces before handing out the gifts because she wasn't sure who they were for.
So today will be very peaceful and quiet. No "can I help" 5 times a minute and poor m-i-l standing in the kitchen in the way of everything. "Did I give you my refrigerator cookier recipe? " (being in the kitchen makes her think of this one and she says it almost every time she walks into the kitchen) She can wash dishes though.

Well, i see Kit has an xgf now. I hope it wasnt a traumatic break up.

's house doesn't sound so good. Particularly since she's in Hurricane country. Do you own the house? For now you can cover the whole thing with plastic on the outside and put a heater on the inside wall to dry it out.

I love Snap's christmas story. Those are the kinds of Christmases that stand out in your memory..

so CWR, how are your feet?
