KG-The weather for the tri was awesome!! It was around 23c...

Oh yeah! Catching up on the thread drift thread can be a big and entertaining job, even after just a few hours!

Upside down? Hmmm... At this point I was having trouble remembering what Elizabethan collars looked like and how you would know one was upside down.

OK. Now I got it. We're talking about a pet. And a bit later I worked out that this pet was a bird. But you can imagine the entertainment value of keeping the image of a boyfriend in mind as well, just for comparison.

So- crisis averted for the moment. The big question is, will he ever stop having the urge to chew his leg off, so he can get the collar off?

It's the new punk/JohnnyDepp look. Young men defiantly wearing upside down Elizabethan collars.

Duck- Roy is a Senegal Parrot that DD has had for years. If he doesn't stop chewing his leg off eventually she has to make the call to PTS. I really dread that day. Collar is new option from unliked vet- favorite vet didn't want to do it.

Washington power outages affected snake-keepers, too. Cold snakes puked up their dinners- natural defense when not warm enough to digest. Sounds minor, but is treated as a semi-emergency since they lose all the gut flora.

Great pics, X! Glad you are having fun!

Oh, Duck- DD is married v happily with 2.5y son. (I have Zee in one hand- using abbreviations.)

Latest animal news- a friend calls, wants to bring me a box turtle who was found wandering a construction site when he should be brumating. Ok- I'll see how he looks, and probably put him in with Fagalo to finish off the winter then release. Well, new guy has an upper resp infec, so is in iso in my bathtub, and needs to be 90F, but how, and needs vet visit for antibiotics- I can afford that like a hole in the head...But if I did as BF suggests and dump him off- he endangers wild population, as well as won't find food/water/hibernaculum. They don't do well when habitat is destroyed, only 40% chance of survival in new location...Just what I need.

It's so warm here- went on 4 hour motorcycle trip yesterday to winery in St. Augustine. I didn't get anything :-( But it was fun.

Craze- well done! How was it?

Hello ladies...not been around much lately, what with one thing and another. Weather has been terrible for cycling but good for the ducks. It finally stopped raining today and I have had a nice ride along the canal bank near my home. I even took a coupla pictures for y'all. Those are highland cattle for all you nature lovers.

Not caught up with everything that's happening but glad things seem to be back on track for most folks. BMO3 - you had me worried there. Hope you and x are having a great time.

Mimi I sympathise with your flood - it rained for days here and I watched the water in the fields out back of me rising rather alarmingly.

    Well done cc!

    Monthly, weekly, daily fun

Just went on the net to check whether Elephant Appreciation Day was Sep. 21 or 22 (it's 22) and found this calendar site:
    http://www.brownielocks.com/month2.html

Did you know that yesterday, Dec. 16 was Barbie and Barney Backlash Day? It was also, and in a more positive vein, National Chocolate-Covered Anything Day (US only, I gather). So, Trek, did you and Knot go out and get anything chocolate-covered? If not, then perhaps a belated celebration today is in order.

Had a long day yesterday, started in the wee hours, ended in...uh... the wee hours...

BMo3- Trying not to embrace the inner slug today. The hours yesterday combined with discrepancies between my watch and the actual, real time have me thrown a little. You folks on EST have it all wrong. Hate to say it...

X- riding w/o a helmet?! For shame! What would I do if you crashed? After laughing, that is. Not like I can be there to scoop your crashed azz off the pavement...

CC- Alive and well. Y'all will see more of me soon, guaranteed. I doubt some ladies around here would have it any other way...

Thanks to everyone for your hugs and thoughts... it means so much more than I can really say. (((TD)))

Stomping my foot impatiently.....this is as good as I am going to look. The waiting could kill me!! Do you know what time it is? Half the day is gone.

CC - great pics yourself. Wow!! I love your bike too.

mimi - that is honestly the only time I've ridden my bike without a helmet. cross my heart (and fingers)

Salsa - so glad you're relatively ok and posting again.

Bruno - nice to see you back. nice pic there too.

BMo3 - don't ya stomp your little foot at me young lady! Sorry to wear you out like that. I had a lovely time with you and your family yesterday. As you know, when I left last night, I had a very special package to pickup at the airport for you. I'll be over as soon as possible with your special delivery. (did you know it talks and everything? non-stop. I gotta feed it too. Dang. )

Kit - oh you just wait 'til I get my hands on you! C'mon over here ya smartazz!

    Introducing Krusty

I need everyone to pray that A. the vet visit doesn't kill me, and B. the person on the snake forum who has expressed interest in adoption is serious.

Quite a handsome fellow Nanci. I hope the adoption comes through. If not, is there a rescue group near you - or are you it?

X - I think I've figured out the surprise! You are too cool. More pix from Casa BMO3!

I did more cookie baking yesterday, Double Ginger, Chewy Chocolate Cherry, Raspberry and Apricot Stripers. Today is biscotti day, but I have to go to the grocery store first.

Happy Wright Brothers Day to all!
