X- I really liked the Spare-Me bike rack by Thule. mounts *very* securely on the spare tire and can easily carry two mtn bikes. I think having the bikes on the outside would help prevent you from having your top slashed. not sure how you'd lock 'em on. I think there was a cable that did it 'officially', but what we did was take one of those 6' long kryptonite cables and loop it 'round, then thru the tire, so it would be a massive b*tch to try and steal. just a thought.

feeling icky this morning. I think it'll be shortlived, though. don't wanna go to work.

To describe the relative stupidness of a movie we used to say "Well, it's no 'End Of Days,' but I think that may need to be revised.

Thanks Kit for the info. I didn't want to put one on the tire cuz I think there is already enough weight hanging on the back door hinges. I have a hitch on order, just isn't here yet. Then I'll do a final fit on my design for a flat rack for a cargo area, single bike and kayak combo. Lots of work there yet. Still need a 4 bike hitch rack though for when the kids and others come along. (still working on getting some friends out riding, so you never know) I've got my eye on a great lock setup that I think will work. I'm gonna have to adjust the original design a bit. (You know me.) It'll be a bugger for them to get them off though.
Sorry your not well today. Hope it gets better. IM me or gimme a call later tonight if you're up to it. (((Kit)))

X - I love the Pixar stuff too. I still wish they' bring out another Toy Story movie. I love Tom Hanks too. Haven't seen Cars. My ex. seems to take my little guy to all the moveis because he gets him on weekends, plus he always buys him stuff so he often picks up the new dvd's before I do...

Our musical was written by a staff member. It's the story of an old couple celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. As they reminisce, we see scenes of how they met etc. DH and I play the younger version of them (aack, I have to 18 again?). We sing the Everly Bros "Dream" (although we do the version by James Taylor and his partner, her name escapes at the moment) and Going to the Chapel together. I have to sing Leader of the Pack alone ( ) he sings Listen to the Rhythm of the Falling Rain alone, and we sing in all the group songs as well. It has been SO fun rehearsing. I have been a background singer in a play before and in choirs but nevr had a solo. I am going to puke onstage I'm sure. (PS I went to see the Everly Bros about 3 years ago, I was the only one there without grey/white hair. )

Hiccups ... best 'weird' remedy that actually works is to put your fingers over the opening of the ear canal and drink water. This is most easily achieved by using a straw. Everyone will ask you what the heck you are doing, but it's worked for me every time.

X, Did you pick out bikes yet for the kiddos? I did skip spinning this morning. Still sore. I have to do the heart rate test Wednesday with my trainer, so I think the extra rest is in order.

CC, if I could swim, I'd be there.

AG, have a fabulous trip. We'll miss you!

AG - Happy Birthday Girl!! Have an excellant vacation. Glad to hear the match date went well. You'll have to fill me in on what speed dating is when you get back.

KG - CONGRATS!!! Way to go on the update (very cute btw!). You'll have to give us more details....I love listening to love stories.

CWR - have a great vacation as well! Sounds like the dr appt went well. Keep us posted on the surgery.

Trek - thanks for sharing Kathy's memorial ride with us. How very touching. Sounds like a wonderful group of people were there for support. Could you just mail out cute guy for Christmas??

Lise - sorry I missed you last night. Hopefully we can hook up later.

Well I didn't make it to the singles dance Sat night. I drove to Madison to see my friend. Talked to his sister the day before to make sure he would be taking visitors. Talked to him the morning of. Both said ok. Drove down to see him and his mom wouldn't let me stop by! (6 hour round trip mind you!). I'm a little peeved about it all. I know he had major surgery but that's why I called. It's not like I was from town and popping in. I know I need to let it go but it is bothering me a bit. And not a thank you from either on making the trip or hey, we appreciate you driving down here. Nothing.

My car was acting up a bit on the way down (almost at 200,000 miles and it needs a couple thousand of work). So I stopped at the Honda dealer - and bought a used Pilot! At least my trip wasn't wasted I'll be heading back down there on Thursday to pick it up - I'm so excited (except for the car payment - not used to those at all!). Merry Christmas to me......of course, this means I have to quit shopping for bike gear and gadgets

mtb, (those are my initials) so you bought a car?!? that's not as cool as a bike,
but congrats anyway. I would have been pretty upset if i had to drive 6 hours for nothing !

Mimi, I was within 5 miles of his house when his mom called and told me "they'd pass" on my visiting. WTF?! I realize she was just being a mom and doing what was best for her baby - he did have heart surgery. But they knew I was coming and I thought it would have been nice to have known before driving down. So he called last night and I didn't answer. I know it's not his fault - he's still looped on pain killers, but I didn't want to say anything I shouldn't.

Hey it's a PILOT! This is my dream 4-wheeled vehicle! I may really enjoy driving in the snow this winter with all wheel drive. I feel safer transporting my priceless freight now (ds). And as soon as I get it home, my TE window cling will go in the back window

owww, cop guy just emailed me. Haven't heard from since since before Tgiving so I thought he'd blown me off to. At least not yet then, lol.

Trek, just kidding, lol. The vehicle is a Honda Pilot, my bike is a Trek (but not a Pilot).

Cops. My dad is a retired one, my uncle was the sheriff, my brother is one my cousin is a state trooper and my ex was one (he is no longer one). I'm used to the lifestyle and personality. I think a bigger issue is that they see things more black and white than most people - can be more judgemental than controlling. So far from his personality, not like the others but his hobbies are - working on houses. He wasn't online because he was trying to finish building his garage before the snow came. But that's no excuse not to talk to me

Did you guys see that the Phillipines got hit with a bad typhoon and mudslides? Where in the Phillipines is CWR heading?

Dar - welcome back to the wonderful world of car payments. I haven't had one in 4 years. I'm not looking forward to the first installment. I just got a Jeep Wrangler, old car had 160,000 mi on her. Was gonna need extensive work as well. She was great for all those years though. No complaints.
As for CWR, I don't know the PI well, so I need to go home and look up where she is in relation to the slides. I may just try calling her cell later tonight anyway unless Kit manages to get some info on her first. I'll admit, I'm a bit worried too but I'm sure she's just fine.

mimi - yup, I'm that old. Actually, I love almost every kind of music there is. (not rap) My favorites are classic rock (60's and 70's) and blues but I grew up with 50's rock.

Will do Trek! I love what he did with the rings too. Very thoughtful.

I feel like crap. My boss just left cuz he wasn't feeling good. Another guy left earlier. We all share the same office. Yuck! I have to pick my little guy up tonight too.
