    Hijacking Trek420's thread in Apparel....

Who went to Veloswap today? My friend Pam and I went and wandered for hours - bike geek heaven. I love looking at the different people, bike messengers (pierced and dredlocked), skinny-butt racer boys, and those in between.

Most bizzare product: Fossilfool Down Low Glow, neon lighting for bikes. Also had a boombox attachment. Please God, don't let them become popular...... The lighting was kinda cool tho..

Trek - did you see any of the Computrainer Time Trials?

Hey! Lee & I were there. Sorry we missed you. We saw Michael (our club's prez) but then lost sitght of him before we had a chance to say hi.

Saw the boombox bike - w. Blaupunkt speakers no less.

We of course gravitated to the 'vintage' bike display, which was a little sparse IMO. The green Brian Bayliss was absolutely over the top - you want ornate lugs? yeesh. I think I've seen a photo of it on some website. There were some other sweet bikes though, but at the moment I'm blanking...

    Re: Veloswap

snapdragen asked Trek - did you see any of the Computrainer Time Trials?

Yeah, snapdragen but just the start of one. I think it's cool that they can link them up to race each other. I have to adjust the resistance of my cycleops manualy (you think I can train my dog to do that?).

How do they link the trainer to the computerised route? I want that.

We wandered around the vintage bikes too. Would have like to have had more.....agree on the Bayliss. How about the size of Freddy Rodriguez's jersey -- teeny boy! Saw Michael too, then lost him in the crowd.

Trek - if it was the woman in the California Sprint Champion jersey, one of the older men kicked butt. Beat everyone by a good minute and a half at least. The woman came in last, she kept pedaling steady, but never seemed to try and overtake anyone.

They were using Computrainers, kind of an all in one trainer/computer etc. Curtis Cramblett (Deity to all AIDs riders...) uses one. Drove me nuts, you can see your cadence, power output, what muscles you are or are not using. "You're only using your quads, use those hamstrings and butt muscles! Concentrate!" Arrrrrgh!

I used a Computrainer when I went to Davis to the Sport Medicine Facility to be tested. Very cool set up. Don't think I'd want to use one all the time though.

    I sounds bossy ;-)

"use your glutes, your socks don't match, get another jersey I'm tired of that one, pedal rounder you're too square, call your Mother..." I don't want to hear all that from a machine ;-) But you know what'd be cool? If they can do that with 5 riders in a room could you race online against others? Or do they already do that too.
