RoadID - Which one do you prefer?

I hate to have stuff on my wrists, I don't even like long sleeves.
I have the "dog tag style", wear it on all rides ...

oh and the reverse on mine says "don't tell me what I can't do"

I'm excited. My dad was asking me what I wanted for Xmas and I had just read this, so I asked for an ankle one. Yay!

I've been meaning to get one for ages, just always kept forgetting.

Trek, I was going to have that put on it... I feel that way alot.

But I changed my mind and I asked to have this put on it: DEFY EXPECTATIONS

My husband got a shoe one, and I opted for the wrist.

I suppose it was because I was an EMT and as mentioned elsewhere here *know* that they'll check the wrist. I also got bright yellow and I think it looks awesome. The few big event rides I've done have done paper type bracelets too so, it just goes with the flow there.

I don't like things on my wrist when riding. It can aggravate my recurring tendonitis. I bought an ankle road i.d. this past weekend finally. Emergency contact #, put on my allergies status (NKA), need to know health problems, blood type, organ donor. My saying is "Not all who wander are lost".

DOH! I placed my order yesterday, BEFORE I saw this.... Oh well. Thanks to everyone for the info - these will make great gifts for DH! I ended up ordering the wrist, but also bought an ankle strap. That way, he can decide which he prefers wearing (the shoe and the fixx were both out for us...).

You don't have to have laces...I have 3 velcro straps and it fits fine around the top toe strap.
You never know it's there...

I work in an ER. I would recommend the wrist or the ankle IDs. I would NOT get the dog tag style. There are a lot of people who wear dog tags in support of someone they know in the military. We can't trust those names to be the person we have in front of us. But I think we would be able to trust the wrist/ankle bands. I would also skip anything that goes on clothing. If the paramedics have to cut off any clothes, and that includes shoes, your ID may be lost.

As far as info on the tags, name, any medical problem, allergies, and contact numbers. Skip the blood type. We have to crossmatch everyone.

I wear a medic alert tag, the sports band form, or I would have the Road ID wrist band.

I also put a copy of my drivers license, which has a picture of me, and my insurance card in a small baggy and carry that with me.

I'd prefer wrist, kinda the first place you look. but the ankle idea is great too for being out of the way. Thanks for the link.

My doctor said not to bother adding it (I was low on room)because they would cross match it anyway, something about it being routine?

What great gifts! Not sure about where to apply, but I would choose the one that is always with me....like my shoes.

Yeah, we ignore what's written down. It's often wrong. Everyone gets crossmatched every time there's a possibility that they need blood.

Allergies and medical problems and medications are much more important.

I ordered mine today I got the wrist one in Pink. I wear a lot of bright colors(yellows, reds etc) so I wanted one to clash so it stands out so I got a girly color. Also I didn't think of this, but the pink color can show support for breast cancer although there are no $$ going to it. Just a thought. Small price to pay to maybe saving your own life one day if necessary. Jennifer
