Nanci, how sweet! Thanks for sharing it. Where does your friend get the birds they release? I love the idea of releasing a bird representing the soul. L.

She raises them. They are pure white homing pigeons.

Very cool Nanci! What a wonderful thing to do.

I had the please of meeting an 85 year old pilot yesterday. Flew in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. I could have sat and listened to him all night....

CWR - sorry to hear the feet are still giving you grief. I hope you're able to get them taken care of soon.

KG - congrats on the new size! That's a great feeling indeed.

OTG - hope you had a great ride. Great job on keeping the eating under control for TG. I wish I were more like you.

So my 'puters been down for a few days. Had a friend look at it and peoplepc had me pointing to a server that's broken. He's got a temp fix for me hear so I can chat with you guys.

I finally got my SS gift all wrapped and I'll be heading to the PO shortly. I think one of my doggies has a bladder infection and the vets office is closed - any ideas what to do to help her for the weekend?

CWR - I had bunions on both feet and had them "done" when I was 19. Not sure if the surgery is any less archaic now than it was back then (1979). Haven't had any problems since though. So what's a bunionette? Like a regular bunion, but cuter?

Woke up to 5-6 inches of snow this morning. The dogs are loving it. They act so crazy n the snow.

    Good Morning TD!

Nanci-thanks for sharing such a beautiful, touching story.

CWR-I certainly hope you get some relief soon. I am sorry your feet are hurting so badly.

Dar-I have no idea other than an animal hospital?

KG-congrats on the new size and on the SNOW! I am very envious of the snow. It is still in the 60s here.

CC-have a wonderful time at Ironman WA next weekened.

Kit- It sounds as though you and Jobob had a lovely time together. You are fortunate to be able to meet up with other TE'ers.

Off to have some coffee and a late breakfast and figure out how best to spend my time today.

CWR - how are the feet today? any better? sucks you can't walk around barefoot up there. I'd rather be without shoes all the time if I could. Hate shoes.

Nanci - very nice girl, very nice.

Dar - no one on call at the vet? what makes you think it's a bladder infection? dog going more lately, history of bladder infection, overweight... (that's usually a big contributor) I'd try cranberry but I'm not sure how the dog's digestion will take it. should be fine but... Careful, diabetes and bladder infection have many of the same symptoms and causes. Make sure they do a blood test while you're there, just to be safe.

Kit - Oh, you have no idea how I agonized over this response. (Or maybe you do. ) So I just checked the weather channel instead. Portland area is chilly and wet I see. You could probably use some warmth and sunshine to blow through and make it all better. Maybe a nice relaxing day out with a friend or two to perk you right up. A nice long ride to get the blood flowing again.
Thanks for the chat this morning, dear. Very fun.

Well, gotta a wedding to attend. See ya TE TD. I hope you all get a chance to enjoy the day. Be safe.

Nanci - Just watched the video - wow, what a cool old guy! Loved the belly dancer request.

Dar - hope the puppy is feeling better. I thought one of my dogs had a bladder infection one day. She was out peeing every 10 minutes. Then after a few hours she stopped just as quickly. Still took her in the nest day and the vet couldn't find anything...

Well we're off to bottle beer, do a few errands, get our christmas lights up, and figure out how to use the trainer that I bought for $10 at a garage sale a year ago. Have a nice day TD!

    Jobob's doing this ride.
and staying at the Grand Lodge. Nice place.

No pics, unfortunately, my camera's dead, and Jobob didn't get any pics. haha, I'll live in anonymity and unphotogenic-ness!
This may change yet, if I can pry DGF out of bed for brunch w/ the Bobs tomorrow morning... I caught some 10 or so cyclists coming up Scholls-Ferry, not sure if that was the randonneur group or not.

X- I know how you agonized, and I am still impressed. A ride sounds absolutely wonderful, actually. I'm pretty sure that's how oregonians keep from freezing in the winter. Once you're wet, you pretty much stay that way, anyway.

Trek- Jo recognized me even without the shades!
