    does anyone know how these would be for layering ie like long underwear or for under windproof pants for skiiing?

    This thread is becoming almost like another Thread Drift, only it's the WoolWeenies Club.

    I think the tights would be a bit of an overkill with long underwear but it depends where you life/play...

    I love my wool ibex knickers too. And my husband prizes his as well above all his other legwear.

    and I just bought the ORANGE smartwool sweater (I think it's an undersweater)
    on steep and cheap yesterday.. I think i'll give it to my son so he can give it to me as a birthday present (snort)

    Lisa and Grog - you guys are a hoot! I used to think my wicking bicycle socks were the best things ever until I tried smartwool socks. How come biking has brought out the shopping monster in me?
