Sigh, I am still not in bed. I meant to go, then felt guilty about taking a day off from running, so I went out for an esay run. I do need to get more lights, so I can be seen.

Salsa-Nursing Homes I am very familiar with, I sent a PM. I am so glad Beeper is doing well. Give Beeper a kiss for me. I adore your weaving, it is lovely.

Kit-I am so sorry your DGF has to work a double. Good Luck tomorrow on your first day of work. I shall be thinking of you.

(((Trek)))-I look forward to the pics and I am very glad Knot was there with you for the ride.

CyclChyk-I will do a tri, no matter what, before I am 40.

Okay, I do not think I am in the happiest of moods, so once again I shall give bed a try.

    Sleep well TD.

BOM - hopefully I too will do a tri but feet might end up preventing it...... I love your determination.

Sorry you day wasn't so great. But tomorrow is a new day with brighter things to come, right?? Crossing my fingers here......

    Nite all.

Lisa, what does that mean?!? To me it says, "Drive up this hill at a rapid pace, and then you will fly into the air!"

Salsa--glad to hear roof's holding, and so are Mom and Beeper. Beautiful weaving!

    J. is getting a master's degree in Information Systems. No, I have no idea what that's about. He works in Information Technology. In the 70s-early 80s, he did sound engineering for big rock bands, then moved into electronics--->computers (degree in computer science)--->information technology. Me, I'm just a midwife. What I know is that he can reconfigure electrical outlets without killing himself, and that impresses me very much.

24 hr shift over, going home! Sleep tight, TD. Good luck at the first day of the new job, Kit!

Ah, hello again. Nice to see y'all so cheerful and full of life. My friend is doing better thanks. Better surgery through supreme radiography, I'll wager. I hung out with her a bit this am when I was working. She shared her b-fast. It was good but my IBS didn't like it much. Ok, thumb got burned doing two things at once. It hurts like h*ll to type much so it's taking me a while. Sorry. It's hard to focus. My eyes keep watering up. (Y'all have no idea how much typing I've had to do lately. I kinda wish it would just fall off at this point.) I kind of injured my knees too but they only hurt when I bend them. I look absolutely ridiculous trying to get off the couch. I may just sleep right here.
CrazyCanuck - Wake me up when you see me laying here too long will ya? Just don't watch me get off the couch, you'll p*ss yourself. BTW - how ya doing today? You're such a refreshing early-morning wake up read. Are you always so happy?

BMo3 - Sorry today wasn't a great one. I really wish I could take on some of that for you. You know I would. But I have a feeling that one of these days, something is going to happen to give you a big smile. You certainly deserve it, dear. Thanks for the inspiration to do better. And, yeah, before we're 40. Even if you gotta carry me across the line. Have a peaceful rest.

CyclChyk - You actually hate getting massages? You've been getting the wrong kind, dear. They shouldn't hurt unless you're that tense that they have to break up the stress points first. They should relax and soothe, get your blood moving and endorphins flowing, which leads to a bit of euphoria and may even turn you on a little bit. (I'm not talking erotic kinds here, just really good ones.) You should be able to feel as though you could just about fall asleep but instead exist in a kind of 'waking dream'. Then you know you've been massaged. Therapeutic in the extreme.

Nanci - I just love your stories about the kids. I hope Addy comes around soon. What are the alternatives? The pic is so cool. I saved it to my screen saver. It's now in there with my kayaking, biking and sailing pics. (of course Homer Simpsons' famous brain x-ray too) You so amaze me with your long rides. Now you're doing yardwork too? Gosh. I don't know what to say.

Salsa - So happy to hear Beeper is doing better. It's tough but I'm so glad your the kind of parents that would do that for her. Class act.

Trek - Oh, I'm sorry everything kind of hit you on the ride today. I wish it would have been better. But I'm sure Knot was a great comfort to have by your side. Even through all that you managed to get pics? (((Trek))) You're just adorable sometimes, you know?

Knot - Thanks for being there for Trek in her hour of need. Super cool timing. Thanks for getting the pics. Well done girl.

OTG - Hey now. Still got meatloaf left? Hmmmm. Does it have veggies in it? I like veggies in it. Drizzled in homemade mushroom gravy made with sh*take and crimini mushrooms. Yum. You know cold meatloaf sandwiches are good too. I'll make more bread. (just love my breadmaker)

    CWR - Ah, you know.

Kit - I'm backing CWR on this one. Nope, zip it. Don't make me come over there.
Lefty/righty? I'm kinda 1/2 and 1/2 I shoot b-ball both ways, can only throw a soft ball righty, can bat both ways tho (**shakes head** don't you DARE, Kit!) but can put it over the fence righty only. Golf - righty. Water skiing - lefty. (I have to have both feet on one ski ) Can't drive straight with my right hand. Too many years driving stick I guess. Soccer - Hmmm can't play that with either hand, that's strange. Yeah, I'm pretty much screwed up. I've got shorts and cross wiring galore.
BTW - Good luck tomorrow sweatheart. You certainly deserve a break. I know you'll knock their socks off. Send me a #,(both of you, if you need it) it's free from this end. I'll call tomorrow night to see how it all went. Too much for today though.

Well, my eyes are gonna drop out of my skull soon. The thumb is shouting obscenities at this point. It's been a long, hard w/e. Sorry if I missed anyone. Didn't mean to.

    'night.

So I showed this to Mr. Salsa. He said instantly, "Oh, that means 'blind hills'--don't you remember we saw those in Scotland? It means you can't see what's on the other side of the summit of a hill." I grumbled, "Smartass who knows everything." It's so annoying that he recognized it right away when I had no idea what the heck it meant, either---all I could think of was a drawbridge warning. I have no spatial skills. He has many. Brat. But cute.

Speaking of Scotland---where the heck is Bruno28? Anyone know?

    short

I;m here for a short time..

We're missing people-Denise223, Bruno28 and a name that escapes me at the moment..Where did everyone disappear to? I miss both of them..

X-what did you do to your thumb? I was trying to follow the conversation but i think i got a bit lost.

Hey salsa, are you going to watch the ashes series? If your hubby's into NZ, this is a good chance to watch except the Black caps aren't playing...It's Aust vs England. Should be interesting.

    Back later

X-get off the couch and go to bed.

The 200k was in Cape Coral/Lee County, so very far south on the west coast. Maybe like sort of the last point of civilization before the Everglades-y southern tip. I didn't know there were panthers on the west coast either, but there were signs like that very often- like you could always see the next one- for about a mile stretch. It was by the airport- very woodsy and wild, and they had built one of those wildlife corridors under the road, plus the speed limit was only 45mph, 40 at night. When's the last time you saw a night speed limit? They must really, really want to protect any panthers that are traveling through.

Gotta go to work, more later...

That's awesome!! Addy would be perfect...

You know what really sucked about the 200k was the 280 mile drive home, four hours, with my butt killing me (the muscles, not the cootchie).

Is there anyone besides this former graphic designer who thinks the better solution for that sign would be a "?" instead of an "!"?

Alright I'll leave it alone. Can't redesign everything.

And the ride wasn't all angst. Like the brand new rider with his egg beater candy pedals "how do I get into these things, how do I....?" there was this urgency to him. and every few seconds he'd take off and ride in the lot in circles smashing his feet down on the pedals. smash smash smash.

Trek "well, takes practice. Ride, practice, repeat. And after all it's not how fast you get into the pedals it's how fast you can get out " Little knowing nods and agreement of riders around us.

Newbie "how do I get into these things, how do I....?" takes off rides smash smash smash.

Trek:"well, along with practice it'll help if you have them adjusted to the loosest setting"

Newbie:"how?" looks down at shoes and starts fiddeling with cleats."

Ride leader to Newbie: "nooooo, not the cleats, for now just gently, slide the shoe forward. See? clips in"
Newbie: how do I get into these things, how do I....? takes off rides in circles smash smash"

Knot to Trek "Leave it alone, just stay away from that guy "

also one of the ride leaders had a full custom Merlin like this only better

Trek - bike porn so early in the morning? Love ya Hon! Sorry to hear about the painful memories but glad you have Knot there to cheer you up. Can't wait to see the pix!

Lisa, I could use that sign while mtb, lol. Maybe as a warning to those behind me

Nanci, I too am in awe of your accomplishments - both on the bike and around the home. ***whispering*** so what IM are you shooting for?

Salsa, glad mom and beeper are doing better. I hope you're taking pix of the home improvement process. Nothing like before and after pix to see the progress.

X - **shaking head** I was gonna ask about the thumb but I don't know if I can handle the story. Add me to the right/left club. I write and throw right, left mouser (drives people nuts), driver, etc left.

More snow this morning. The ride is was pretty icey which I don't like. I brought my running gear for lunch so hopefully I can get motivated. BMO3, how do you stay so motivated? And when do you turn 40? I turn in August of 07 and I want to accomplish something before then. I really feel like I need some adventure in my life. Guess I need to sit down and figure out what that is and then do it? I think I'm in a rut....

Kit - Happy first day of work girl! Enjoy your first day and I hope you get to spend some time with dgf to celebrate!

Good morning. I see the Sun came up and the Earth is still rolling along in orbit. All good signs in my book.
First song on the stereo this morning... Dream Weaver by Gary Wright. What a way to wake up. Aaaaaahh...

I've just closed my eyes again
Climbed aboard the dream weaver train
Driver take away my worries of today
    And leave tomorrow behind...

Cruisin' by Smokey Robinson is on now. Love it. I often have that one in my head when I'm riding. This day may just have some hope afterall.

Funny thing to pick up. I also found it interesting that it occured in a place called 'Darwin'. I could do sooo much with that. But I won't.
Thanks for the wake up call, CC. I did end up falling asleep on the couch. Eventually made it to bed though. It was an emotionally and physically exhausting w/e.

Trek, when I saw that sign last night, I was thinking "WTF?" instead of "!". But you notice I was on my best behavior last night. Today is a new day, however...

Sound advice Knot, for oh so many situations.

Oooh, nice bike. I also like the Cielo. Thanks for the porn. Feel like I gotta go to the LBS now and shop a bit. BTW, I'll be sending another PM on that subject, Trek. Thanks for your help so far.

Kit - thanks for you know what. Hope you had a glorious first day on the job. They better be appreciating what they've got in you or I'll send CWR over to kick 'em all in the shins.

CWR - Ah, you still know. But I'm gonna say it anyway... (((((((((((CRW)))))))))))

Have a wonderful day ladies and be safe!
