I was actually really fond of the Animaniacs because there were a lot of plays on words, puns (not all of which were bad...) and odd little educational things. Pinky and the Brain "What're we doing tonight, Brain?"
"What we do every night, Pinky... Try to take over the WORLD!"
then Pinky's weird responses to "Are you pondering what I'm pondering?"
..."I think so, Brain, but where are we going to find a duck and a hose at this hour?"
..." Uh... yeah, Brain, but where are we going to find rubber pants our size?"
"Wuh, I think so, Brain, but burlap chafes me so."
"Well, I think so, Brain, but I can't memorize a whole opera in Yiddish."
...and so on, and so forth.
I can't think of cartoons I liked as much as those, except maybe for bugs bunny (and the OLD bugs, who was really actually kind of bitter and harsh, but said what you were thinking...)
