My heart goes out to everyone in the wake of the fires
My heart goes out to everyone in the wake of the fires
Don't think of it as getting hot flashes. Think of it as your inner child playing with matches
the thing that gets to me is all of the animals that are probably being lost. The small farms and horse ranches and stuff. I actually saw footage of folks leading their horses- and even a couple of llama's out to safety.
It makes me sad to think of the fear those poor animals must be feeling.
Growing up on a ranch I remember my Grandpa just saying to open the gates and let them run, that they would instinctivley run for safety.![]()
and i think this fire has been particularly bad for that.... they were saying on the radio that it was so fast moving... that even the birds couldn't out-fly it!![]()
we were talking to someone who lives in the burns canyon area (pioneer town fire this past summer).... his property made it through... but hearing him talk about the animals... just broke my heart......
I'm 3 hours south and west...and the smoke has blown all the way down here. That's what Santa Ana winds do and it makes it VERY difficult and incredibly dangerous to fight... the 4 firefighters who died, and the 1 still on life support, were trapped and burned when the winds changed... it's such a tragedy... my heart goes out to their family, friends and coworkers...
for me another eerie thing is that today is the 3 yr anniversary of the Cedar Fire... 15 dead and 2200 homes lost... it's just weird to have smoke thick in the air on the same day of the year...
and yes, if and when the arsonist is caught... there will be numerous counts for the arson... but also 4 counts of homicide. I too feel it should be a capital crime. There is no way anyone can convince me they didn't realize the consequences of that action.
There is a fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness".
