Windproof jacket

TE does have the jacket/vest, that's where I got mine (in blue).

It's a GREAT jacket, I've worn it all winter last year, and I also think having the option to switch to the vest is great for me. Sometimes I'd wear it to start on a very cold morning in the mountains this summer and take the sleeves off as the sun showed up more, but kept the vest through the day even when it became hot and was okay.

However it is much more than a windproof jacket. When I am only looking for wind protection I go for another jacket that is unfortunately not cycling-specific but that's not as warm. So for days below 8 degrees Celcius I think it's great (and I still layer underneath) but above that threshold I find a little warm.

It has a decent water resistance too. I've worn it in the full rain and although I was not totally dry I was relatively okay when I finished the ride, and never cold. (I also wear a lot of wool tops so that also helps.)

Well, I ordered it. Glad to know everyone likes it. Since I ordered it from TE, I'll probably have it for my ride home from school. STILL don't know of anyone else with faster shipping! Thanks for the reviews. Grog, I decided to go with this since winter wear was my priority, and thanks for the rain review, it's important to me also. What kind of light wind jacket do you have?

I'm in Missouri and the most I have ever waited is 72hrs from when the order was placed. I try to patronize TE just because of this! Apparently they care about their customers, and I see Susan on here a lot answering any questions. This is the greatest customer service I have seen since Kodak photocopied a camera manual for me and sent it free of charge. Yup, you guessed it, I have purchased Kodak cameras ever since. Amazing how loyal I am when I feel like a valued customer!

Just one thing I forgot to say about the Gore jacket:

it stinks.

It keeps the smell of sweat after exercise. Really strongly.

Goes away as soon as you wash it though.

What kind of light wind jacket do you have?

I bought something pretty cheap at the Helly Hansen outlet a few years ago, for running mostly.

My dear partner has a couple of Sugoi windbreakers that are just that, windbreakers. They are nicer and have rear pockets.
