On the main road I think they could as I would think the speed limit would apply to all vehicles - pedal power included.
On the cycle paths I don't think it applies but next time I see our local policeman I'll ask him.There are a lot of unwanted, unloved bikes out there - go on give a bike a good home

You know, if i EVER get a ticket cuz broke the speed limit riding my Bianchi (hahaha.... sorry. Had to laugh at that one) I would copy it; frame each copy; and hang one at work; at home; in my car; on my mailbox; on my gorcery cart..............

CyclChyk, I did break a speed limit this weekend for the first time! I went around a corner at 17 miles an hour when the posted limit was 15. I am such a scofflaw! Heh. (Okay, a 15 mph zone is cheating, but whatever.)
