Shhhh, I might be doing the forcing!
DH has been whining "Do we HAVE to ride if it's raining again?" We rode 50 miles of last year's ride in the rain before withdrawing because of his knee pain. But after that, we spent 3 days draining, drying out, and cleaning our bikes - it's amazing how water can find any entrypoint into your bike! - and my BB was toast (but I don't know if the rain was the cause...it had been feeling off prior to that).

DH picked me up a Grunge Board from REI for my commuter, but I may strap it to my road bike for Saturday. I'm not sure what to pack....tights? capris? rain pants? Long sleeve and a vest? Short sleeve and a jacket? Arm warmers? Arrrgghhhhh!!!!

And if it stops raining, where do I carry all this stuff? I told myself last year that I would NOT ride again with my camelback or a backpack....but it's looking like I might have to anyway. Grrr...so much for travelling lightly! I would REALLY like to do this ride in the sunshine! I did that in 2000 and it was awesome!

Boy, I really hate iffy weather. Can you tell!!

I know, the weather should be more predictable.

If anyone else is doing the ride with you (and driving separately), you could set shuttle at the 30 mile mark (i.e., go early and leave one of the vehicles at that spot). Then you when you get to that point on the bike route, you can reassess the weather and change if necessary. Of couse, it's really not looking like it'll clear up.
