Well, the bike was probably a *bit* more expensive. But you're worth it! Congrats!

Some of you may remember that I was planning to buy hussy red Sidi dominator shoes as my reward for finishing the Irongirl triathlon a couple of weeks ago, but after going mountain biking last weekend and loving it, I bought a beautiful new red mountain bike instead!

It's beautiful, DB! Isn't it cool how one sport opens up into another, and another.![]()

Very nice! Congratulations!
(so, will you ride it to Red Hook next weekend? We'll take the trail, you can go overland!)

Hey -- Do you know if they will do another Irongirl in the DC/Baltimore area next year? I think I've been bitten by the triathalon bug --- I'm adding running and swimming workouts, in addition to my biking ;-), and the Irongirl event sounds like the perfect venue for 1st timers. If that one works out, maybe the Miami triathalon next fall!!
By the way, that bike is a beauty. You more than earned it AND the shoes. I have those ruby slippers, and girl, they are more than worth the $$$$$. Let's see, you have a red bike. You need shoes to match!!!

Thanks, all. I took the pretty new bike on a short spin today and she was great. Then I took the road bike out for a bit longer spin, and she was great, too.
Mickchick, the Irongirl will be in Columbia for two more years. The race director said they had a contract with Ryka to do it for three years. 60% of the participants were first-time triathletes, and it was very well organized. I'll see you there next year!
And PLEASE don't encourage me to buy the red hussy shoes. I'm hemorrhaging money these days. I have way too many expensive hobbies...
oooooooohhhhh... pretty ride!!!I like that much better than the shoes! Now you get to buy all new accessories to go with your new toy. How fun!!
Enjoy!!!

Sweet! Enjoy the new ride!

Mick chick - registration for the Iron Girl opened last night at midnight. I also did it this year and it was a great race and really well organized. All the women had great attitudes and it was a really fun atmosphere. I'd definitely recommend it!

I think you need some red shoes to match the bike!!

I agree! Red shoes for your red bike. We will live vicariously through your purchases.
