bike socks are ultra thin. you want a tight fit on your shoes whether you use bike shoes or not.
With bike shoes especially clipless if you turn your foot to unclip you want NO give. Foot moves, shoe moves, no surprises.Even with standard shoes a loose fit means chafeing.

Funny, the socks I use for running and cycling are super thin, coolmax wicking socks. Some have dimpled tops so that the air flows better. None have padding anywhere. They are also pretty cheap. Originally Posted by xeney

Be pretty good receiving socks, as generally I do not wear them, it is usually around November that I stop wearing flip flops but I am the exception to the rule, even in the UK.
Maybe fur lined flip flips would be the answer..............only kidding
Even then, I tend to wear trainers but no socks.
The only socks I would never wear are those weird short socks that just about cover your ankles.
You guys certainly know about socks, do you have the same problem we have in the UK, that when you take them out of the washing machine there is always one missing!!! I guess it's just one of life's little mysteries.
