Jubilee furniture polish... the old fashioned white stuff. Good for taking the scuffs off white patent leather shoes and white bikes.

Hey... I have a white frame on my bike. Tonight I just spent about 2 1/2 hours trying to degrease and clean the chain, etc....
The frame has a lot of dings on it but I think it is still very solid. My only question is if there is a way to make a white frame look a bit fresher ? There are still some dirt spots that the degreaser didn't get out. I used a rag and some muscle to get the rest out but I was wondering if I might be missing something?

Of course, you never ride a white bike after Labor Day.
Sorry! I couldn't resist![]()
LMAO
Thank you.
Next bike I buy WON'T have a white frame.

Clean it really good (with the Jubilee) then wax it like a car.
Be careful to not get the wax on anything plastic or rubber (like brake hoods) and if it's a carbon fiber frame, ignore everything I just said.
Otherwise, shine that puppy up. The wax will make it easier to wipe future spooge off.
Def: spooge - yuck from the road, bug guts, etc.
no regrets!

Have you tried Simple Green? That's my miracle cleaner for everything!!! Speaking of white patent leather shoes, I always used Windex or Armorall wipes to get the scuffs off. Might be worth trying?

You roadies are weird. My mtb uses mud as a "protective coating." *grin*

Somehow I think I should have a quirky response to this, but I don'tMy mtb uses mud as a "protective coating."But then again, why be normal? I wear me weirdness with pride.

Heh, my MTB gets a spit polish almost every icky ride. Well, not every but every other. The time we rode through BLM land that still had cattle on it, she got a bath. But she's new! She's my baby! Sucks too, because part of her is baby blue and I can so relate to the white frame. Fortunately, most of her "exposed" parts are dark blue.
So my girl is spoiled....

Heh...
I'm not sure why a company would think that white makes a good color for a cross frame. But oh well. When I become rich and can afford a new bike, she will be a road bike with a BLACK or Dark frame.!!

I still wash my bike after every mud ride. It's horrible for your components even if you think it looks cool.Originally posted by bounceswoosh

There's washing to keep the bike functional, and there's washing to make the bike pretty. I do the former, but not the latter. If there are daubs of mud left on the seatpost, down tube, etc., life goes on =)

I'd like to confess to being a roadie with a dirty bike.
I'm so slack - I hardly ever wash my bike. It's bright blue so the dirt doesn't show up that much but I think I could do better.
I think it must run in my family because by brother, who has a very well worn black road frame said he once went over a year without washing his. He got to the stage where he was scared to wash it as he thougth the dirt was probably keeping it together!![]()
