KnottedYet,
I am sorry to hear the stem is butt-ugly. You are right, it is best to buy one befitting Flossie's true beauty.

Ah - the glottal stop - very common in Scotland. Put the t's in where KN has put apostrophe's and you'll be able to read what it says nae bother. The glottal stop (missing 't') and the dropped final 'g' in words like runnin' and goin' are characteristic of Falkirk, the town in Scotland where I live. Am I starting to bore people now...yeh, that's what I thought.
KN public school - you must be a posh burd then?

No - confusingly 'public' schools in Scotland are really private schools. Normal schools are state schools. Aye Fifer's sound quite like us. But remember - it takes a lang spoon tae sup wi' a Fifer.
Irn Bru is the nectar of the gods. It is the only recognised hangover cure over here. It's orange and tastes incredibly sweet. IMO it has become sweeter over the years but I might just be getting older. It's advertising slogan is 'Made in Scotland from Girders'. For a while it traded on its health giving qualities as it has iron it but the amount is neglegible and its not allowed to make those sort of claims anymore. It's really the Scottish person's Coke.
If you like sweet Scottish things, you'll like it![]()

And if you like sweet Peruvian things, try Inka Kola. If you hurl after your first swallow, too bad, pass the can to me. I love it. Because I first drank it when I was 16. Otherwise...barf!It tastes sort of like bubblegum soaked in Mountain Dew.
BMO3! Welcome! Unlike some people (beta) you read everything before you posted?Wow. It's actually fun to go back and dip into, oh, say, pg 34 of TD. What seemed so important on that day, and is now forgotten... So, yeah, all TE gals are welcome, but you have to find us, we don't advertise! A nod o' the head again to Nanci for starting us off last April.
Knotted is Scottish?! Whoa! More Has Been Revealed! So. Next event, bog snorkling triathlon?

There are several Peruvian restaurants in Chicago, and a little Peruvian grocery store on Fullerton, just east of Central Park, where I've found it. I've even found Diet Inca Kola. Not quite as tasty.

Just had to say...all this Scottish is making it very hard for lurkers like me to keep lurking... Despite BF's best attempts and a year in the UK (he is British and very good with accents) I still have a hard time understanding Scottish accents. Except for those few words that are similar to Norwegian, like "bairn" and "kirk" and a few others. And trying to teach BF Norwegian, he has discovered that putting on a Scottish accent helps.
