Your new Stihl probably has auto chain and bar oilers on her. Check your book to make sure what after maint you need to do. Just like with a bike chain, too much oil can be bad. Drags a lot of extra gunk into the housing. They kind of fool proof them these days. (for fools like me) The handle is wide enough to put your foot in to hold it down when starting. (Had a neighbor guy about 12 yrs ago slice the heck out of his thigh starting one - eeewww. Oh, the stories I could tell about him.) I like the easier starter too. I've got a 270, runs like a champ. I like that I don't have to take the fuel cap off to see how much I've got left - nice little window on the side. The carb shouldn't flood or vapor lock either - there's a wonderful little sensor to keep it in check.

let the tomboy out to play with us!

I'm gonna take a hot shower. (or do I need a cold one ) and try to get my muscles to calm down. I'll do some chamomile tea and Excedrin and put on my jammies and try to decide if my shoulders will handle kayaking tomorrow afternoon.

I wanna go kayaking. And go bike riding. How do I do both AND go out to dinner with my old college roomie AND volunteer at the church coffee hour?

(and do laundry and dishes and vacuum and take the dog for a walk and go get some groceries and scrub out my shower which is calling to me right now)

chuck it all and jump in the hot tub - that's what I do. As a matter of fact, it's out there on the patio looking awfully lonely right now... hmmm. Gotta go. See ya all tomorrow!

(By the way, L.A. is back and I've reported him again! They didn't boot him, they just erased his stuff.)

I reported him on it. He's all sore that we made him leave, so now he's just shamelessly insulting. He went to the low-rise jeans thread next. We need CWR here to kick him in the shin.

    Attachment 1574
In Internet terminology, a troll is often someone who comes into an established community such as an online discussion forum, and posts inflammatory, rude, repetitive or offensive messages designed intentionally to annoy or antagonize the existing members or disrupt the flow of discussion, including the personal attack of calling others trolls. Often, trolls assume multiple aliases, or sock puppets.

Six Gaps ride? And other stuff

Isn't Nanci doing a big ride this weekend? Called "Six Gaps", I think.

We are back in the hotel since we didn't really have a roof---just trusses (rafters). Will probably be here another week since we redefined in a long discussion with contractor today what "livable, move back in" condition really is. Poor cats are still at the neighborhood cattery, a very nice cats-only boarding place with a little playroom that all the guest cats rotate through each day. I always want to start working there whenever we drop them off because there are so many gorgeous cats to play with. We went to visit ours today since they will be stuck there another week, poor guys. So anyway...back to airplane watching out the hotel window.

It's gorgeous fall weather now here in Seattle. 50-mile tandem ride coming up tomorrow. Hurray!

I think this is the fewest users (23) I've ever seen on TE. Well, and a couple hundred lurkers and 'bots, but they don't count.

I'm out of spam. I'm reduced to healthful food now, like low fat/low salt chicken breast pesto and red pepper sausages.

    sigh.

It's the hour. Those East Coast folks are sacked out.

What on earth is a red pepper sausage?

We went to Whole Foods on the way back to the hotel this afternoon and spent a bundle on various things, especially cheeses, as a sort of stress consolation prize. It was great. I have a thing for new Manchego.

Got 'em at Costco. White meat chicken with red bell pepper and the tiniest bit of pesto, made into a pretty decent sausage. I threw out the wrapper, so I can't tell you the brand.

Nuke 'em for 2 minutes, add a baked potato with olive oil and pepper, and you have Knot's Dinner.
