Amici Veloci - Where Are You?

    To disable ads, please log-in.

I've done a bad, bad thing. I thought it would be cool to have a Frappr map for Amici Veloci, and created an "experimental" map. Of course, I can't now delete it (I really hate that site), so http://www.frappr.com/amiciveloci is now the official Amici Veloci map (the Great Decider says it's so).

If you have an AV jersey, know the "sekret handshake", and can hum the theme song, please add yourself to the map. And maybe post a picture of yourself in your AV kit.

Ooh, you are so cool. I'm going to have to figure out how to add the link to our blog also. You going to gather in the folks on bikejournal?

FullyLugged has his MS ride this weekend and will be sporting the colors. Not sure that he has been indoctrinated into the club's refeened ways yet.

This will be good because we keep getting asked where the club is "from."

    Thanks, Great Decider.

I did it! I even have a s/s jersey coming in the mail to complement the sleeveless one I ordered. Weather started to turn cooler just when I wanted to wear my jersey. Someone had ordered a s/s jersey for her friend, whom it didn't fit, and she agreed to sell it to me! YAY! It should be here early next week. I'll see if I can't get a picture taken.

Hmmm. I know the greeting and the reply, but somehow, I missed the theme song. What is it?

I think it is in post #25. I've been rather distracted lately and haven't kept up on the latest club news.

I haven't been able to get that damn song out of my head since posting.

We could also try the Jungle Book song, courtesy of BikerZ, that I also now can't get out of my head: "I wanna be like you-ou-ou, walk like you, talk like you, you'll see it's true, an ape like me, can learn to be, human too..." OK, maybe not.

I MUCH prefer "ding dong the Witch is dead, which old witch, the wicked witch" to "we are the world, we are the children" (gotta stop now, getting nauseous).

Ah yes. Makes so much more sense. Not to say I haven't sung the Wicked Witch song plenty of times while on my bike.

Does MP hate or love that song? I personally hate it with a extraordinary passion. My youger sibs discovered this and tormented me with it for months after the original movie came out. I have to go lie down in a dark, quiet room for a little while now....

I dislike to Oompa Loompa song, as well. The Oompa Loompas always creeped me out, so I associated them with the equally creepy song.

We could make our own. Trek420 is partial to the lumberjack song, so how about:
I'm a bikergal and I'm ok, I sleep all night and I bike all day.
I spin up hills, I clip and fall, I stop at the portapotteeeee.
On Sundays I wear a number, and ride a centureee.
Half-marathon over. Sabbatical year over. It's back to "sacking shirt and oat cakes" as they say here.
