Heh!The descent was amazing. I hit 41! That’s mph, not cars.

Wow, your photos are great! I'm inspired to take a trip.
Enjoy!
Wow!
Great trip, great write-up, great photos.
Love Yellowstone; haven't been back in ~15 years. Reminded me that one of my "life goals" is "Yellowstone by XC ski in the winter".
Must go update "to-do" list now....
There are so many places on my "to do" list. Of course if we moved to Hawaii then I wouldn't need to "waste" my vacation time going there.![]()

I used to live around there, just east of the park near Cody...
Great write up. I was very interested in your comments about the tour company. How would you go about finding a good company? Word of mouth? When I am paying people I have certain expectations.
The natural history of the area is one of the best parts. I bet "road side geology" of yellowstone" would work for cyclists, it's done by highway mileage

Sorry to be dumb, is "road side geology" a book?. We definitely needed something extra -- the only factoid I learned the whole trip was a casual comment about glaciers from another tourist.
And how DO you pick a tour company? I picked Timberline, and was vowing never to use them again. But I now realize they do have the benefit of being a known entity -- I'd know what to expect if I used them again. And on my to-do list is to take a bike trip every year...

yes, roadside geology is a book series, you can use them driving around, they describe features and events in non-geologist terms. Yellowstone, Colorada, Utah, Norcal, for just a few/
I think I would want to go word of mouth/personal recommendation for a tour?

Kim we also learned that Teton is French for breast. Those first French explorers must have been really looking for chicks because I just don't see it.
But we read that somewhere. The guides didn't tell us anything useful.
