Neurologist #2
What a nice guy! He made so much more sense than Neuro #1! (and he didn't go on and on about his stress, teenagers, etc.)
Neurologically I am beautiful, except my tendon reflexes are WAY too excitable. The MRI boogers are just boogers in the brain, and nothing to worry about. (whew!)
He thinks I've got two things going on. Gluten intolerance, well, he doesn't think so. He thinks it may be actual celiac disease. (same idea, only much nastier.) That's number one.
Number two: there's some wacky genetically dominant thing where your brain stem sets your respiratory rate too high, and your blood gets too alkaline. Things stabilize while you sleep, but during the day you're using up all the buffering your system has, so if you do happen to breathe a smidgen more (cuz yer talking a lot, or you have a cold, for example) you end up with this cascade of neurological symptoms. It also goes along with mitral valve noises (I've got a valve noise) and hyper tendon reflexes and other goofy stuff. I get the yawns, and that goes with this thing, too. Something is kicking it off in the spring, now to find out what the irritant is.
There is no carpal tunnel syndrome in my left hand.
So neuro #1 was sort of on the right track, but she had it backwards. And had the wrong cause. And pissed me off.
Neuro #2 is very cool and made me feel much better about the universe.
