The second 2 pictures show the deep cracks that were the result of the crash. This previously uncrashed helmet saved my life... http://www.crazyguyonabike.com/journ...?page_id=12901

Not to change the subject but oh my gosh Denise!! Great documentation of the accident, crazy scary though. Glad to see you got right back on the bike! Not sure if I could so easily after something like that.

I hear ya Jana! I had a bent elbow cast on my right arm/wrist for the first few months of the year... what a PAIN!!! I was reminded very quickly that people w/disabilities that deal w/this stuff on an ongoing basis deserve a lot more respect!

    Good luck w/the bra thing!

I know when I broke my collarbone - I truly wished I had a husband or roommates cause dressing myself just sucked! And of course I broke my right collarbone and I'm right handed so had to do my hair etc with just my left hand. For several months I wasn't at my best! And this past November I had surgery on the old fracture so had to go through all again. Yes makes me appreciative of the fact that I am a healthy persona nd my disability went away quickly. Bless those that deal with this stuff everyday!

It probably helped a great deal that I have no memory of the accident (didn't then, and still don't...).

Hey everyone, just a reminder that when you have to buy your first or replace your helmet, your health insurance company, if you are lucky enough to have one, might reimburse you. Mine (Blue Cross) does to the tune of $30 bucks.

Might also depend on which BC you have. They're all independent. I have BC of CA (yes, I'm a tech worker).Might have to look in to that.

Me too and I don't even work/live in CA!! I remember thinking it was very strange to have BCBS CA instead of normal BCBS live everyone else, but my company used to be headquartered there so I guess it makes sense.

Well, since i'm still off the bike, I did a 3 hour this morning. Then after Luch, I went by Coates again. This time, Corey (the owner) was there . He asked me about my sling, and agreed that It was a good thing to get a new one, After about an hour of trying on various models, I settled on a sil[IMG][/IMG]ver Limar 911. Almost got a LAS Squalo, but couldn't quite get over the looks. It's What the Lipton Tea Women's racing team uses (The folks at Helmets. org said it make you look like a Hobbit!) Here to many years (at least 2, since that's what the warranty is good for!) with my new lid!
