I have s fairly new pair of Shebeest bike shorts in size small - and they seem to be strething out a bit. Other brands size small were a little more snug - but I definitely know that a Shebeest size Medium would be too big. I would go with the fact that the bike short part of the capri (size small) fit you.

Thanks Cheri. I would have thought you would be in an XS-you are tall and thin, right? Now I am really questioning the size small.

    Shebeest decided

I talked with a lovely woman at TE, whose measurements are the same as mine. She has the small, so small it is. Off to place an order.

Anyway to get over feeling self conscious about wearing biking shorts?

Jennifer, I got over it when I saw a pair of guys breezing past me with their shorts on, button down hawaiian print shirts unbuttoned and flying behind them, and their huge hairy beer guts hanging out. If they're around, no one's gonna notice me! (and I can always pretend they're just around the bend, so everyone's just been blinded by them!)

This cracked me up, thank you. I shall proudly wear my shorts.

I use the measurements in the sizing chart, rather than the dress size. Not everyone's size 10 is the same, but waist and hip measurements should be credible.

The nice thing about TE is they will take returns of shorts tried on (wear your undies) that don't fit right. Yeah... it's a hassle to return, but at least you get back the money for the item. To be spent on something else!

    V,
I called TE and she was helpful. Like me, her waist was in one size and hips in another. Sizing me is a PITA. Anyway, I am going witht he smalls. She told me what to check for when they arrive. Worse case, I exchange them. I have done it before with TE and they are quick prompt.

Once you find something you really like, buy 2 or 3 more of it. Vendors feel compelled to tweak things every year and you may not like the tweaks. Yes Sugoi - I'm talking about you.

Good Advice V. If these fit as nicely as my Shebeest capris, I will convince DH that a few more is a very wise investment. Wish me luck.

OMG - right on - exactly what you said! I mean c'mon folks, pretty please, with brown sugar on top - can we keep the sizing at least semi-consistent from year to year? Seriously, we are creatures of habit, we like knowing short XY fits us and that we can order up two more anytime.

    End of rant!

I bought a set of cannondale bike shorts (the whole mtbchick outfit actually :P ), and was helped over the phone by one of the great TE staffers. I would not buy shorts online otherwise, except TE folks are awesome!

But what a righteous rant, Cassandra! My size has not changed (sadly) from last year to this year, but I'm having to get a whole different size in Terry shorts this season. I am not amused!

You go with the rant. I could go on and on about the sizing of women's clothing, but will spare everyone.

I need to order online, which is wy I ask so many clothing questions. The bike stores around me carry guys clothing, and little kid clothing, but no womens.

Hey, hope this helps. I have a pair of SSS shorts that i bought from TE in blue color. I am not a size small in regular clothes, my waist is about 26-27 inches but i have wide hips about 39 inches i think I got them in size small and they fit well. In regular clothes i am somewhere between size 6 to sometimes size 8 depending on the brand. just for comparison here are my pictures in these shorts so you can judge yourself http://forums.teamestrogen.com/showthread.php?t=8084
