    weather

Dear weather people in the clouds,

Do you mind not raining on me at night time when it's hard for me to see? I know with the double shots(lights) seeing the path is much easier but rain on glasses isn't safe when one çan't see well normally!!!!

Also, do you mind not raining half way into my ride-I turn around at a good spot just because of you and then when i'm almost home you stop raining.

I like rain for off road-mud......but on road do you mind???

Annoyed in Perth...(but happy farmers down south)

    Dear Neighbor:

I know you are a very kind-hearted man who cannot say no when people as you to watch their dogs. You had 3 of your own. Then you took in your sister's two ancient dogs. Then your son's fiance brought over her puppy mini-dachsund. And they are all very well-behaved dogs, and even though you are two over the limit, I love them all and have said nothing.

But when you took in your son's fiance's parent's daschunds for the week while they are on vacation, you crossed the line. There are now 8 dogs at your house. But these two aren't fitting in. Not that I dislike the dogs themselved, as I'm sure they are fine pooches. However, they are extremely barky. And everytime I let my dogs out, your guest-dogs run to the fence and begin barking. Which gets my wolfhounds going. Ok, so I have a bark collar on one of them, so she isn't actually barking.

Because I respect ALL my surrounding neighbors, when this occurs, I bring MY dogs into the house. They are half responsible for the noise. Could you at ANY time afford us the same courtesy? Because frankly, neighbor, it has gotten so that I cannot let my dogs out AT ALL. Because you leave your dogs in your garage with the door open 24/7 so they always have access to the backyard. There are NO times, day or night, that I can let my dogs out for any exercise - because you are either not home to bring yours in when they bark (as I do) or you ARE there and seem to not notice the noise that will get us all fined at some point. All I'd like is an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening - your dogs can have the rest of the whole d**mn day outside for all I care....

    (thanks for the venting forum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

    Thumbs down Laf

    Dear LAF,

I appreciate the fact that you're a charitable organization, and your purpose for these events is *purely* fundraising, but all the same, it seems unfair that riders, just for the privilage of riding in your events, have to raise 10x the money walkers and runners have to. It seems like overtaxing a lot of people who know who you are and do this out of the goodness of their hearts, and there are a lot of people who didn't do it this year because of that $450 minimum difference. ...and don't get me wrong, I managed it, but still...
I'm not sure if I'd be too enthusiastic to do it next year. I'll still do charity rides because now I'm strong enough to contribute my abilities to worthy causes, but... if you still have that high minimum that I'd have to meet myself if I couldn't ask it of others, I just won't. That's a lot to ask of someone on my budget, and a lot of others. We're not all pros etc...

    Food for thought.

Ditto -- and I think some of these comments need to go to them.

    Dear LBS

Dear LBS (the closest one to me-you know who you are),

Why has each visit been more unpleasant then the previous one? Do you realize my family consists of 5 bikers? Did you realize you just lost a small fortune? I have 3 growing boys, who need to be outfitted and two need brand new bikes. The first clue would have been the teens and DH sizing bikes! You claim to carry items, which you do not have and only half stock items! You refuse to carry women's clothing, do you think only men ride? One of your employees actually refused to help me because I did not buy my bicycle there-ACTUALLY I did buy a bike there a mere 3 weeks ago, but upgraded not only my bicycle, but also my bicycle store. The ONLY reason I went back this evening was to purchase shoes for my ride tonight. Three men, not one could/would help me?? Yes, I was stupid, I should have not given you any of my business. Lucky for you I really wanted to ride this evening. A pity you will never know just how much of my business you lost. You see, I am addicted to biking!
Oh, and while I am on a roll, why would you carry Thule bicycle carriers, but none of the stabilizers and accessories needed to make the darn thing work properly? Even a novice like me heard you give incorrect advice to not one, but three customers. Thankfully none of them bought anything from you!
They were smarter than me. From now on I shall happily ride out of my way to the VFNSLBS (Very Friendly Not So Local Bike Store).

I am watching to see just how long your small store stays in business.
