I wonder how the adult condors felt, being released after so many years in captivity. I was reading about how they try to make the released captive-bred birds averse to human contact by capturing them temporarily and putting them in "timeout!" It said that juvenile condors get in trouble because they are curious and not afraid of humans, so back in the old days when there was a wild population that had never been in captivity, they would still get to close to humans and get shot or whatever.
Lise, was your heart rate really high? That's what makes me feel like puking is a high heart rate. Hard to avoid in the afternoon in the summer. You might try taking an electrolyte cap _before_ you start, and putting a bandana of ice around your neck.
