I spend most of my weekends backcountry skiing and areas that are usually covered in snow are not covered at all or are very thin. And now because of the poor snowpack and conditions this storm has made for bad avy conditions in the Front Range.
http://www.crh.noaa.gov/bou/?n=denver_snowfall We've had more snowfall in the city so far this year than all but maybe 2-3 of the last 15 years, NOT including this storm. My road didn't clear after that pre-Christmas storm for at least 10 days. Perhaps it's just hitting farther east than where you live. But I agree that the mountains are suffering.
