I am having serious food cravings that I've been giving myself over to. As much as I tend to believe it's "lack of will power," I have a feeling it has more to do with my attempt to keep my caloric intake at 1600 a day while I've significantly increased my intensity and hours of training a week.
I'm not asking for advice or anything, just thinking "out-loud." I'm going to up my calories to about 1900 a day during my build weeks. Then try and get back to around 1700 a day on recovery weeks. Hopefully this will help keep my cravings under control.
After my last snow shoe run I had a freak-out. I felt like I was on the verge of having a panic attack and ended up eating half a bag of potato chips. I'm sure this was because I had not fueled properly. Properly fueling my body is the new goal.
I'm a person who needs to stick to a plan and does best when I eat the same thing or very similar things on a daily basis. I feel "lost" if I veer from that plan. I need to spend some time, look at my daily menu and re-evaluate.
I'll try and post 7 days from now to update on the little experiment.
